Title: Ideal Squad Size

If it is less than 3 or more than 15 please explain what it would be.

For me it was 5 which is my current squad size. It is easy to command, and easier to see where everyone is.

10 because if the squad needs to split, theres enough for both sides. Plus, 10 people is a lot of fun!

I use three/two depending on the speciality. My squad is two, but overall in the district we have 5 squads in our army. But we live quite a way from each other so only all meet up for big wars. My squad is the best armed and practised so we take on the role of commandoes. Sneak behind the enemy and snipe mainly. Two/three is best for a squad consisting solely of different specialists. We don't have enough people to afford to have grunts which is unfortunate. But such is the way of life.

I voted for 10 becuase 10 people could be conveniently be split up into 2 groups of 5 or groups of 3, 3, and 4. In the militia there are certain positions shared by all. Everyone is a grunt, scout, strategist, and sentry. [Not usually all at once though] Some members can add HWO and sniper to that list based on weaponry.
We don't have escorts because that is an unecessary position. The position of commander is held by 3 people with equal weight to help with organization. [we have the name "Ridgewood Militia" for a reason ] Our members can switch positions at any time or take on multiple roles based on common sense. That's what I love about our team setup, it's so fluid and shapeless.

Well, our teams arsenal has been growing, so I don't think that having the team all 21K will be the premise in the next war with WB.

Five squads with four people in each typically works for me in large games.

I say three people, especially considering that I hardly ever have soaker fights around my area and that the battlefield are usually rather small in size (two houses next door to each other and all the alleys, front and back yards are open). It's me, and two of my friends vs. a bunch of younger kids who always outnumber us (they also have a pretty good selection of soakers to use).

NiborDude - January 13, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
They outnumber you, but they sound foolish. We can't have serious games with little kids around here. They just take the hit and keep running at you even if your shooting them upclose in the head with a CPS 2000. They're like zombies! :ph43r:

Monsoon - January 13, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
They are actually pretty wiley players. They set up tricky traps and such that we wouldn't even think of in a war as small as that.

Well set up better ones, but they are very zombie like i agree, they just don't care. I battled two on two with a mate with two kids who randomly shot us with xp 270s we went and got a CPS 1000 and a CPS 1200 to show them who's boss, we soaked them but had to retreat cos they wouldn't stop coming!
