Hmmm....All-Gay European cruises and Dating for serious relationships. The ads in general are target words used frequently on the forum, but some are just companies paying more to have their ads on the more active boards on IF.

All I can say is, WOW. The ads have become topic specific! Relief effort donations pop up in the Hurricane Katrina topic, and laptop/desktop deals pop up in the Laptop vs Desktop topic!

Not to mention that the main ads have stayed almost constantly on 'super soaker", "water balloon launcher', and others relative to this board.

I just saw one for like "free pvc piping" or something...this is very nice...at least its better than "buy our nail polish" or something...lol

It'salso better than "shoot the duck for a free ipod" or other things that are similar. Sometimes I play them but just exit whatever screen it bring you to.

Cause it costs money. Right now SM costs nothing, we aren't ready to support a paid forum and hosting. One day SM will run SSCentral out of space, and then we will need paid hosting. But that day is still far off [at least I hope], so the status quo is best for the moment.

Soakermedia.net is a click away from ours, as soon as I set up Paypal and have a valid account for it. Installing this forum was once an option on the SSC server, but if we had, it would have sucked away more vital space. Forums use at least 40 mbs of space, or more than double the size of the old SM site.

Ok...well, maybe when you run SSC out of space Wild boys and I could set you up with SSN...we will have like 1000 mb space...

Why'd you bother getting that much space anyway? We have 350 megs total and never have used over 300 previously. I've discovered that the main thing that took our space away was old log files... I now download them periodically and then delete them.

If you'd want to setup a forum on your some new hosting, I could help you set up the forum and import in all these posts (you can get a database backup here for $35 or something like that). I'm not sure if it will take 40 megs or more (maybe IPB will), but the vBulletin software only took up a couple megs when it comes down to it. If you have attachements on, yes, space will be wasted (which is why I don't have it on anymore).

If you are set on moving later though, I'd keep it simple for now and install the forum later. Moving forums (especially large ones) can be a huge pain, and I should know because I've done it several times to Super Soaker Central alone!

Wel, we intend to store hi-def videos showing modding, construction of homemades...etc. I will pretty much take a video whenever I'm doing something like that, if I remember. Stream shot videos sould also be nice...

We're being targeted again, and this time literally "we". I keep seeing ads about real estate in Bergen County and Northern New Jersey along with other ads involving our county and region in some way. Nothing targeting Ridgewood itself, but still weird and creepy. :ph43r:
