Title: Regional War Newsletter

There should be a committee to work on this newsletter. If you want to help out, now is a good time to say so. We will need a name for the newsletter, graphics, content contributers, editors, etc.

I can contribute some pics and stuff, and maybe write some stuff for it...

First, we need more regional wars to start with. There's only one right now, in the Northeast. We need a Southeast war, a Northwestern war, and a southwestern war. Or at least one more.

Dividine the country into 4 is not the way to do, IMO. There should be more than 4 Regional Wars. It limits how many people can come. Perhaps State wars should be the entry level large scale war, and then, if there is enough interest, we could progress to regional wars and perhaps even national wars over the span of 9 or 10 years, slowing building up members and pblic awareness of a new hobby.

Soakerdom is too small to have state wars, and in 9-10 years I probably won't even have a team anymore. How about smaller regions, like New England, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, etc.?

Hmmm......I would love to do a California regional war, but I don't know how to get a lot of people to come...there should also be one in canada and the UK...

I disagree. The size of soakerdom is not limited by the number of people involved online or who even have simple teams. A regional war can simply be a collection of people who just enjoy water fights, and are okay with being grouped together to form teams. State wars are most definently possible, heck town wars are possible. All people need to do is to take action and actually organize an event.

Well we did try and sort one out for the UK, but we couldn't find a good venue. Until then, it's unlikely we're going to have one.

Any plans to try again? A UK regional war wouldn't even have to be that large, just a few dedicated people.

I would still ike to organize something, but now I'm spending a lot of time on my website.

I don't know, we need to have a venue, preferably central, before anything is sorted out.

One in California would be nice, then I could go to more than one. I'm trying to convince my Mom to host one in Maryland, but first I would have to go to one myself. At least that sounds like a yes to the Northeastern Regional war.

Also if the UK had a regional war, and the US did within the same week it might attract some attention for soakerdom :) .

Hunter - August 24, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Yea, soakerdom really needs more members.

DX - August 28, 2005 03:49 PM (GMT)
The Regional War letter will most likely be incorporated as a section of the Soakerdom-wide newsletter. I don't think there is enough interest to support a seperate newsletter for regional wars.

Agreed. Together is definately the best way to do it.
