This is the new K-mod article we will have on SM v2.

The K-mod
Firstly, we have an instructional video showing you how to do this mod. For the most information, I suggest you read this article and watch the video before attempting this mod.
This mod has come to a legendary status. But there are some things we must clear up before I begin to teach you how to do a K-mod. Firstly, there are certain guns you can K-mod. Here is a list of the guns you can K-mod. If the gun you were planning on K-modding is not here, then tough luck it cannot be done.
CPS 1000 CPS 1200 CPS 1500 CPS 1700 CPS 2100 CPS 2700 CPS 1-3-5
This covers it! If you don’t have one of these guns, you are not going to be doing this mod.
There are some other things we must talk about. With a K-mod comes another mod that is [here]. This mod is called the check valve freeze. This dandy little thing is what stops us from breaking our guns. It lets out extra pressure if you begin to over pump it. Doing a K-mod increases the power and if the check valve is there, all the extra power will be released. So first I suggest you do that.
Materials: Phillips screwdriver 30-80 [12 inch] ballons A clamp Scissors
Now that you are finished with your check valve freeze, we can move onto how to perform the K-mod. First open your soaker (Duh). You must open the PC. The PC looks like a big ball in your soaker. There are two parts to it and you must unscrew the two parts to get to rubber PC. Once you unscrew the PC take out your balloons and start cutting the bottom park about an inch up. Then place the balloon over the rubber PC. Pull the balloon as far down as you possibly can. This part takes some labor and your fingers may become sore, but it is well worth it. Continue this until you finish placing on all the balloons you want. Now screw the two halves back onto the PC. This part may be a little tricky too. The 2 halves may not touch because of the balloons and that’s where the clamp comes in. Screw everything back together and put your soaker back together. Pretty simple, eh? Now test it out. When pumping your gun, be very cautious. The check valve area may blow if it was not done well. Remember that we also have an instructional video that you may want to watch as well. |

That's a great article. ^_^ If you can't understand how to perform a k-mod after reading that, you shouldn't be modding guns.

Thanks, I have a couple more articles to post. One is about hand signals and the other is about the importance of camouflage.

Of course Nibor's article will be complete with pictures, and good ones that clearly show what has to be done. There will be a link at the bottom of the written instructions to the video and vice versa. This way we can serve more learning styles better.
I've got these articles to write:
The Value of Good Positioning
Going Baseless
Holding a Fortified Position
Taking a Fortified Position
Outnumbered
SM Battle Manual [advanced tactics]
Duxburian's 1st APH
Duxburian's 2nd APH [My 2nd is an original design]
Making a Homemade Tracked Pump
Multi-Nozzle Mod
Stupid Blunders and how to Avoid them
Several in-depth reviews like the ones I posted on ISCF a while ago
...And more that I can't think of right now
[PS-you guys are going to love the v2 gallery-it is going to be MASSIVE!]

I've got a couple more to write. Mainly tactics articles and stuff like that. I do have some tech articles to write as well. CVF and nozzle modding.

What exactly does a K-mod do?
Yup, I'm new to this ;)

Clearly, thicker rubber in CPS bladders will apply more force on the water within, because there's more rubber that wants to return to its original position. By adding balloons on top of an already thick bladder and increasing the thickness of the rubber, resistance is greatly increased, so the range and output is dramatically increased. Sometimes, however, the increased power can significantly reduce stream lamination or even mess up the weak internals.

I'm going to revise this article a bit for the site posting. The pictures will dictate what gets changed. Mostly better explanations, although the pictures should make it really obvious.

So that's what you do when you're not soaking! :)
Uh, you should update that quote dor newer CPS guns like the FF (Actually only the FF [I think])

No, I think the Flash Flood and the Aquapack Devastator use cylindrical CPS bladders; but there really isn't much basis for my belief after all. The point is, only spherical PCs can be K-modded, but those two soakers could be on a colossus list if they are cylindrical-PC after all.
