Title: Trenches and Bunkers
Description: Are they effective?

Do you think trenches and bunkers are effective in water warfare?

BTW this could have been a pole. Bunkers, maybe, if the back is opened so retreast is easy. Trenches, sure death

I made it into a poll. B) I think that they can work if you make them in the right places. Example, a trench on a hill is better than a trench in the middle of a field.

Slaghter Pens! If they charge you cant get away fast enough, and it sorta immobalizes troops.

A trench that is elevated works the best. A trench thats ground level will probably be a death trap. A number of those poll questions are correct.

This topic is somewhat old, but I have an update of ideas: if you have a 4 ft high wall as a bunker, it would be a lot better than a trench in terms of get-away time, and probably wouldnt take as long to build as a trench, though it may be more expensive...

In the Battle of Gettysburg, a Union regiment on a hill had only 3 hours to construct a defense, and were able to build a 6ft. high wall out of natural materials.

I still favor natural materials over anything else. When you get away from the world of hoses, QFDs, and the such, you gotta lose the shields, tarps, and everything else n00bish. A strong defense can be created with only logs, branches, etc. Free, requires a warrior to have skill rather than money, and doesn't take that long to build.

Yes...I was thinking of doing something like that at my local paintball field...

I was thinking of doing that in one of the forests near my hose. Nearly everywhere there's a good place to snipe or build a wall.

Yea...My local paintball field doesn't really have a management...so its free entry and we can build whatever we want there...
