Title: Invent Your Own Mod!

DX - March 27, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Got an idea for a new mod? Post it here for advice as to if it could work/is possible. Someone here may even think it is a good idea and try it. If your mod works, then you could go down as one of the great modders of soakerdom! Make sure to make your description thurough enough that we can tell whether or not it might work or has been tried already.

pressure gauge mod for the FF... will write article and submit it later...too lazy now...

wetmonkey442 - March 28, 2005 12:45 PM (GMT)
Mods. Almost forgot about them. My Craaaazzzzyyy Modification is certainly a viable option, so there is the chance of blowing yourself up. Unfortuantely many people think that they have found the newst KEWLEST modification, when in fact it has already been discovered.

Sorry, a bit of my anger at newbs got out. ;)

NiborDude - March 29, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
One of my least known mods is my 15X nozzle mod to the nozzle selector on a CPS 1500 or 1700. It's pretty basic. If you saw off a certain part of the selector it allows you to have a free area where there is nothing in the way of the stream.

Commander_Gaunt - March 29, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
I'm looking for more extreme modding to do (like my suped up 220)!

Hunter - March 29, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
I plan to do a mod to my hydroblade...Give it a 100oz. reservoir. Give it a CPS PC... Make it a QFD gun...will post details later. The problem with extreme mods is they take a lot of sawing and that makes my poor little arms tired.

EDIT:that's not considered spam is it?

NiborDude - March 30, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
No of course not. Something along the lines of this would:

im gonna mod my hydroblade...sawing hurts my arms...

What you have there is a good post.

Commander_Gaunt - March 30, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
Just updated my extreme mod on my 220. It's way more simple and still has all the power (more than before the simplification) and is way more stable (I can now pump all the way to full without it leaking pressure!!! Nozzle is around 20x I will be testing it for range tomorrow, however I suspect it will be less than 40 feet. I need to put on the full 2L reservoir to make it fire really far (and I mean REALLY far (like 80 feet)). Because this version is more stable, I will be writing up a modding article if it works well.

NiborDude - March 30, 2005 08:21 PM (GMT)
80 feet? 20x nozzle? If this thing is true than I expect many pictures and full article explaining how you made this!! :P Sounds like an interesting mod. You did it using pieces of your old monster rocket right?

Commander_Gaunt - March 31, 2005 01:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it's really quite simple, however you need to expand the reservoir and use the monster rocket pump. The only reason you need a gun at all is for the firing mechanism. The Rocket went 100 feet into the air, shooting out of the neck of a 2L bottle (well over 50x) so it's reasonable to assume you can shoot 80 feet on a 20x nozzle.

I did a test shot alongside my CPS 1000, it shoots further and I haven't even expanded the reservoir yet. So all in all I'm pretty pleased with the gun so far!

NiborDude - March 31, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
You still haven't explained how it works. How did you make the mod and how did you use the parts to make it shoot farther than a CPS 1000?

Commander_Gaunt - April 1, 2005 09:03 AM (GMT)
Well, initially the idea was to make a water gun completely, but I had problems... I had no firing mechanism! So I decided to use my 220 in there (it had a messed up pump) as the firing mechanism. So basically instead of hooking up the hose end to the 2L bottle (like in the normal monster rocket) I found that the attachment fits perfectly over where the pump attaches to the 220 reservoir. So basically this mod turns a 220 into a separate reservoir gun with a far larger pump (3 pumps to fully pressurise!!).

DX - May 1, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
Let's keep this going! Anyone think of new mods recently? @CG: could you write an article on that crazy 220 mod? Also, I'm really intrigued by it. Pics?

Hunter - May 1, 2005 03:37 PM (GMT)
CG and i came up with the max-d trigger mod.

Commander_Gaunt - May 4, 2005 09:57 AM (GMT)
The Max-D trigger mod was all written by Hunter, but I had posted about it before he did it and had a hissy-fit, because I wanted to be part of it lol :D the writing is all hunters.

The extreme modded 220 isn't really the best use of the mod, I need to find a better use for it... I need a gun with a 2L pressurisable reservoir dammit! Actually, the 3A probably does...

I may write a theory article, but currently I'm not happy with the 220 version, it can't fully pressurise and only fires 40 feet. Also sometimes the trigger mechanism just makes a really bad whining noise and doesn't fire.

Forceuser - May 4, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
The 3A has a separate pressure chamber. I don't think I know of any pressurised reservoir guns that are two litres. The XXP 175 had a 1.5L reservoir and that's about as big as it gets.

Commander_Gaunt - May 4, 2005 03:03 PM (GMT)
Dammit, I'll have to make my own, or settle for a smaller one.

NiborDude - May 4, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah, any gun that goes over the 2 liter mark is a separate PC or CPS based.

Some Guy - July 8, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
I think that you could like saw of the end of a flash flood PC to increase size.

Doom - July 8, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
PC expansion is already a well established (albeit not very well known) modification. Sawing the actual pressure chamber would do damage. PC expansion mods only involve giving the PC more room to expand because the PC usually does not expand fully.

Hunter - July 15, 2005 02:25 PM (GMT)
im thinking of doing some more fun things to my already over-modded FF...PC expansion is interesting...though somewhat hard...hmmm...mayb replace the PC case entirely...

damn its hard to type on this laptop...

Some Guy - July 31, 2005 04:28 AM (GMT)
I've done a strange PC expansion mod to my FF. I have a really bad pic that's hard to see but I will post it if you want. Basically though you just open up the PC walls So that you can access the PC. Then you take the PC out and attach the bladder back to the rest of the gun. This removes the PC walls. With a check valve freeze this mod allows you to pump until you stop due to fear a breaking the gun.

NiborDude - July 31, 2005 05:00 AM (GMT)
Wow! Sounds interesting. If your pics are bad, I would suggest taking better ones if it is possible. Make a new topic about it when you post them.

DX - March 15, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
Joanaardway has made some new 2700 mods. Tis a shame that someone hasn't found us yet...

mr. dude - June 21, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
A bit of a late reply, but who cares? The topic is pinned anyway.

My EES turbine mod. I need to switch one of the check valves' positions, conncet the pump to the future PC, get many balloons to be the PC, and possibly drill te nozzle. How's the idea?

Croc - June 22, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
Since I'm helping you with it, I think it might work. I am unsure as to how you will connect the PC to the resevoir, as you would need a small sized check valve. You wouldn't want the water to go back to the tank while you're pumping, that would just do nothing then.
