wetmonkey442 - March 5, 2005 01:39 PM (GMT)
Wow, that is a pretty good slection. I never buy from eBay though, because I don't have enough money to compete with a lot of the big bidders out there.

DX - March 5, 2005 02:35 PM (GMT)
Find an auction that hasn't had much action, and wait and watch it. Snipe it at the last few seconds. I got my 2500 and 2 3200s for dirt-cheap prices because those auctions were not noticed. It actually benefits us if people do not post links to the better guns, as it might expose the auction you were about to win. :P

Hunter - March 5, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
I got my CPS 2100 for $9.99USD on ebay! :D

DX - March 5, 2005 05:07 PM (GMT)
I haven't used Ebay for 2100s as Sports Authority had many. They were once priced at only $7! I only bought 2, I should have bought like 20. :P

Hunter - March 5, 2005 05:24 PM (GMT)
buy CPS whenever possible

Try to add at least a little more depth to posts like that, the point of the posting spree is to increase the forum count WITH GOOD posts, not just to post for the sake of posting.

My SA should start putting them on the shelves soon. They were 7.49 where I lived. I picked up three. I'm picking up at least 5 more this summer for modification, and at least another 2 more just for having them. At those prices, how can you pass it up?!

NiborDude - March 5, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Exactly! When I bought mine I got 3 on one trip and 1 on another. I have so many of them it's crazy. All of them are painted camo and im working on putting burlap around them to make them look ghillie-ish. B)

DX - March 5, 2005 07:09 PM (GMT)
You also have to remember to mod them. Didn't a few also need fixing?

Hunter - March 5, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
uh, what's ghillie?

NiborDude - March 6, 2005 03:37 AM (GMT)
It's like camo. It's like 3D camo so you kind of look like a bush or something that looks natural.

Hunter - March 6, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
oh, you mean like that stuff with leaves and branches sticking out of it?

Commander_Gaunt - March 7, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
CPS 1200Wetmonkey weren't you looking for a CPS 1200?

wetmonkey442 - March 7, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
Thankyou for pointing that out CG. I haven't really been checking eBay lately. Funds are a bit tight right now, but I might be able to scrap enough together.

To anyone else on this board: I know this is probably useless, but please do not bid on this. I have not owned one of these for years, and currently I only have about 2 CPS blasters. I would like to own this gun because of it's nostalgia factor to me.

Hunter - March 8, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
@wetmonkey, try posting that on the sscentral forums, more soakerfans will get the message. ;)

Actually, more people will get the chance to bid on it. Announcing to the world that you are planning on bidding on an item is the worst thing to do. people don't care whether or not you want it, as long as they know about it, and can get it.

DX - March 8, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
Unfortunately it has popped up on SSC, and Spinner and Wild Boys both want it. You might be able to contact both and persuade them not to bid for it, but good luck that might be difficult. :(

wetmonkey442 - March 8, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
Aah, never mind. i will never understand people like Soakologist and Spinner who gobble up Soakers. They have resources and time to do it. It's kind of why I have tried to take care of what I do have, and focus more on homemades. A well constructed homemade can kick any soaker's butt. That's a little re-assurance for me when I see someone immediately pay 120 dollars for a CPS 2000, look at the design on paper on my desk, look at the pile of parts in the corneer and say, "Sucks for him."

DX - March 8, 2005 09:25 PM (GMT)
Fatbogey on ISCF is offering a 1200. I would put a bid on that and see if there is any demand for it. You would only need 24 hours to win if nobody else bids on it. That's a pretty good deal!

wetmonkey442 - March 8, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I've contacte dhim about that. Time will tell. :ph43r:

Spinner - March 8, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
I "gobble up soakers"? Since when? I can understand you saying that about Cloud, but please discriminate. He has 269, I have in my working arsenal less than a tenth of that number - the same number as Nibordude, I think, but with much less power, especially considering that two of them are Storm 500s.

I rarely bid on guns on eBay US, as shipping is often prohibitive. So you're safe on that one from me. The CPS 1200 Wild Boys and I are interested in is a different one, on eBay UK, to the one you're looking at. If you lived in the UK, you would probably realise how justified any UK warrior is in wishing to extend his armoury, considering the dearth of CPS over here.

As for homemades, I'd so make one if I could. However, as CG confirmed, it's virtually impossible to get the required parts over here in the UK. <_<

wetmonkey442 - March 8, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Sorry Spinner, was a bit fustrated (at a non water warfare source) when I wrote that. I guess I was basing it off of the fact that you have always seemed to have gobs of soakers, which seemed unusual in the UK. I remember you always having Big Troubles or something along those lines.

No worries. I can see your point, I just felt it was misdirected. And yeah, I had four Power Paks, but only one was for me though. The others - which weren't cheap - were to resell somehow. I managed to get rid of two, one to go - if I seemed "always to have them" it was probably because they weren't selling very well! -_-

Anyway, I hope you win that CPS 1200. ;)

wetmonkey442 - March 8, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
Too bad, you're in the UK, I would be interested in the Powerpak! :P Sorry, you had trouble finsing PVC, wonder why they don't have much over there....probably because us American's burn PVC garbage, and you guys are more enviormentally friendly (along with the rest of the world  )

Commander_Gaunt - March 11, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
Anyway I found a number of PVC bits on ebay including valves and elbows and tees..., that could be a good place to buy. PVC stockist Try this in the UK for actual pipe. I sells in 6m lengths very cheaply although they don't seem to show schedules in the UK, just a class system. In fact I can get most things on the net except reducers... which is a bugger...

EDIT: the stockist also has a 30% off sale on at the moment.

Spinner - March 11, 2005 02:56 PM (GMT)
Nice find. Perhaps the reducers you need are on this page?

Hmm...I'll have to peruse that site in more depth.

Commander_Gaunt - March 11, 2005 05:34 PM (GMT)
I'm gonna see how much it costs to get the parts in from the U.S.

Wild Boys - March 20, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
Somebody else now has a CPS 1200 on eBay UK. More persuading.

NiborDude - March 29, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
They're bringing out the big guns on eBay!

SS 300 There have been a bunch of SS 300's

SS 300 Another SS 300

SS 50 I believe this is an origonal from the early 90's

CPS 2000

Another CPS 2000

Another CPS 2000

Lots of CPS 2000's. I might bid on the MK1 if the price stays low.

CPS 3200

CPS 2500

Wild Boys - March 29, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
There is a good selection of soakers there. If someone gets in an XP 150 or one like that on my list I am in for one of those. I want that CPS 2000 and that 2500 (depending on the condition) but at the moment I want other guns. I suppose there will always be another one.

NiborDude - March 29, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
I've been impressed with the amount of heavy CPS soakers that have come up on eBay this far into the year. Towards the end of the type of soaker begins to sway farther from heavy CPS and more towards medium and lower CPS and different types of air pressure.

Commander_Gaunt - March 30, 2005 01:19 PM (GMT)
I tend not to buy from ebay, car boot sales are better because you always find one or two and they only cost a pound. Although you don't find really heavy stuff, usually light CPS blasters.

Wild Boys - March 30, 2005 03:59 PM (GMT)
I really should start going to car boot sales. You do seem to be able to get if you can find some good super soakers for very cheap. Someone who I knew found and got a CPS 3000 for £5 around a car boot sale where I live that comes on every Sunday! Too bad he totally recked it by leaving it outside on the grass in winter and just not being careful with it in general. Even toy fairs around where I am that occur sometimes on weekends could sell some good soaker worth getting. I've got to go to a car boot sale sometime. Perhaps this Sunday if I am lucky.

Commander_Gaunt - March 30, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
There's a massive one where I'm moving within 500 yards of my house every Sunday, I'll get up early and just run round looking. Maybe I could make some money!

Forceuser - March 30, 2005 06:10 PM (GMT)
I don't think I've ever seen a CPS soaker at a car boot sale, and I've been going for what must be six years now. And those aren't small boot sales - there are several hundred sellers. I've seen XPs but no CPSs.

Wild Boys - March 30, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
Were they good XP's? What ones were there? XP 150 or one like that I hope.

Also, check this out on eBay, some sort of Wacky Water Limbo made by Larami.
Its the same person or firm that is selling the NIB SS 300's and 50's.

WACKY WATER LIMBO Super Soaker Brand by LARAMI .....NEW

Never even knew or heard about this one.

NiborDude - March 30, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
Here in the US we just have random garage sales that we can check out for soakers. I've checked a couple and I've come empty handed each time. I think there's an online trading service where people get soakers and trade away stuff they dont need anymore. Dux knows more about it than me.

DX - March 31, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
It's called Freecycle and you can trade, acquire, or give away items for free. Although I don't remember the url. Look at the pinned topics at SSC in the Off topic forum. There's a topic about it there.
