Lucas Scott is having a nice summer. His senior year is almost starting, and he spends alot of time with his friends and his brother. But there is still emptyness in his heart. Six weeks ago, Brooke Davis, Lucas' ex-girlfriend left town because her dad got a new job in california. After having said the hardest goodbye ever, Lucas tries to make the best of things. Nathan approaches Lucas about Peyton's coke addiction and Lucas sees no other choice than to call the one person who is able to save Peyton, Brooke. Will she come back to fix her best friend? Will Lucas get another chance with Brooke if she does come back?

Brooke Davis is the captain of the Tree Hill Ravens. Or at least, she used to be, before she left North Carolina. Brooke's parents forced their daughter to come with them to California, so she had no other option than to go with them. Her summer is... Well, not that great. Brooke misses her friends and even Tree Hill. She remembers her goodbye to Lucas Scott like it happened only yesterday. He declared his love for her, and she was speechless. Is it possible that Brooke feels the same way? Spending her days by the pool and on the beach, the brunette gets a phonecall from her ex-boyfriend. Apparently, her best friend Peyton Sawyer is doing drugs again and Brooke might very well be the only person who can stop it. She doesn't think twice and takes the next flight back to Tree Hill. Is Brooke in time to save her best friend? And what happens when Brooke's mother finds out that she left and comes to town to get her daughter? Brooke doesn't want to go back to California. Now her mother is going to tell the brunette why she wants her daughter with her... There is something going on with Brooke that even Brooke herself doesn't know... Yet...



Nathan Scott is dealing with a divorce and an ex-girlfriend in danger. Turning back into bad boy Nathan is another thing added to his list. So Nathan becomes the old Nathan again, figuring his life sucks and only bad things happen in Tree Hill, so what's the point of being good in a town that's bad, right? He finds himself in bed with Rachel Gatina one day, the new girl at school, but Nathan has no clue she's also a student at his school, let alone on the Ravens' cheerleading team. At first, it's all just sexual between the two, but Rachel wants more, and Nathan sort of saw that coming. He declines and Rachel sets up a scheme to trick Nathan. She tells him she's pregnant so he'll stay with her... Oh, what now?

Haley James is still on her tour. Well, until she comes home and shows up at Nathan's house. She tries to make amends for abandoning him, but Nathan has already decided it's over. He wants a divorce and hands Haley the divorce papers. Haley immediately notices the old Nathan has returned, so she signs them, although she didn't really want to, she realizes he needs to find his old self again, the other Nathan. Maybe Haley can change Nathan again to who he once was? Haley's not sure, especially when he throws and goes to alot of parties and drinks again. Haley hears stories at school about 'bad boy Nathan', stories like one night stands and drunken hook-ups with random girls. What will the outcome be when Haley sees Nathan going to the bedroom in the Scott beach house with Rachel Gatina?



Jake Jagielski has gotten out of jail and headed off to Savannah, leaving Peyton Sawyer, his girlfriend, behind with a broken heart. Being the good guy that Jake is, he feels horrible about it, but everytime he calls Peyton, she doesn't answer. One day, Jake gets a call from an old friend, Lucas Scott, telling him that Peyton's not doing good at all. Jake packs his stuff and heads for Tree Hill again. Jake goes to see Peyton with Lucas and sees how bad it really is. What is Jake going to do when even he can't save Peyton from drugs?

Peyton Sawyer has fallen back into her old pattern. Now her senior year is starting, and she has her new mom in her life, the blonde feels a huge amount of pressure dumped on her. She turns to an old friend... Drugs. Peyton sinks deeper by the moment and feels all alone, especially since her best friend is gone. Then one day, her ex-boyfriend Nathan Scott catches Peyton sniffing cocaine. She begs him not to tell anyone, so he promises her he won't, but of course, he lied. Nathan decides to tell his brother, which leads to Lucas calling Brooke and telling her. He begs her to come back for Peyton. Will Brooke ever come back to save Peyton?



Chris Keller has tagged along with Haley James back to Tree Hill. Of course, when Nathan Scott sees him, he immediately thinks that Chris and Haley are together, making it only worse for Haley. Haley and Chris are getting closer and she discovers that there is an actually person inside of him. Eventually, feelings erupt and it ends with a kiss between the two. But what happends when it turns out that the person who sells Haley's good friend Peyton Sawyer the drugs is Chris Keller himself? Will Haley find out about it? And what will she do once she finds out?

Rachel Gatina is the new girl in town. She becomes friends with Brooke Davis when Brooke has returned, though no one else really likes Rachel. She has secretly set her sights on Nathan Scott. He is exactly her type, bad, arrogant, carefree, and talented. What goes together better than a bad boy and a bad girl, right? Well, not so fast. Rachel finds herself in bed with Nathan at his beach house the next morning and the two get involved, well sort of. They mostly just use eachother for sex, but what happens when Rachel wants more with Nathan? Will he agree to be exclusive with her?
