Remember 2006? Harbor High's senior class graduated. The Fab Four, consisting of Marissa Cooper (Beauty), Ryan Atwood (Brawn), Summer Roberts (Boobs) and Seth Cohen (Brains) were finally ready to each begin a new chapter of their life at each of their respective colleges (except for Marissa, of course.) Then tragedy struck. Kevin Volchok swerved in to a car carrying Marissa and Ryan. The impact was hard, the crash was quick, the airbags barely worked... and in that tiny moment, Marissa Cooper died...

On the other side of the country, graduated meant long friendships and lasting romances for some particular seniors of Tree Hill. However, that all changed on Graduation night when Haley James and Nathan Scott had a huge argument, seemingly about nothing. Yet it was known to everyone that they were having problems ever since Nathan dived in to the water to save Rachel and Cooper... but people thought they'd figure it out. Lately, rumors have been circling that a divorce is in the air...

... or so everyone thought. But Marissa was in a coma all summer, and nobody thought she'd wake up - but she did. Surprisingly, the crash and near-death experience gave her a new perspective on life and she even stopped drinking, much to the delight of Summer. After missing the closing date of her college application and Marissa's no longer need to go to Greece, they both chose to go to a university a little closer to home: University of California Los Angeles. Life was looking up... for them.

... and the rumours happened to be true, causing a tension among Peyton Sawyer, Brooke Davis and Lucas Scott. The divorce was finalised, and so were the friendships. Everyone took a side but it was too much for Peyton, therefore deciding to break up with Lucas. Which led him to someone of the name... Pretty
Girl.

You see, while Marissa was asleep, Ryan practically lived at the hospital, talking to her and being just well, Ryan. And on the other side, Seth was consoling Summer, talking to her and being just well, Seth. Yet despite his efforts, Summer broke up with him due to her not being in the right state of mind for a relationship. And once Marissa woke up, Ryan never got even close to asking if she wanted to hang out together. It was the Lonely Hearts Club all over again for those two.

So while college started for the residents, badly for some, Haley went on another music tour around the country for a year with a very familiar soul. Meanwhile, whilst Haley was away, someone else returned to Tree Hill just in time for the first lecture class of the college year. It was Jake Jagielski, with his daughter Jenny. And soon, Peyton was once again being rescued.

Yet, Seth and Ryan, determined to get their girlfriends back, also went to UCLA. It was the Fab Four split in two, as even their perseverence couldn't change the minds of Marissa and Summer. But everyone is in for a little shock, as the Fab Four are about to break into quarters, with an illicit love affair involving a Kevin Volchok, a proposal to a Cooper, and a possible marriage to a blonde who has a son with one of the other Four.

And then when everyone was moving in to their sophomore year, Haley decided to return with Chris Keller in tow. But it's now Junior year, relationships are getting serious, friendships are barely mending, basketball and cheerleading are still the hot topic... and now everyone is realising that they must grow up.

Yet a very special event is about to bring these two groups of people together. The NCAA College Basketball Championships, which is held in March for twenty days, has an American campus chosen as the host for the competition. And the winner is UCLA. Dorms will have to be shared, tours will have to be taken, basketball played and watched, and of course, cheers to be cheered. So now everything is turning upside down for the people of the University of California Los Angeles and the North Carolina State University, as everything they trusted and believed in is now turning in to all a big lie.
