There weren't many things that scared Mestra, despite his terrible vision and his refusal to get his vision corrected or have the right prescription of contacts.

Bears didn't scare him.

Humans didn't scare him.

Women on their time didn't scare him.

Demons didn't scare him.

Spiders didn't scare him.

The homosexual didn't scare him.

He ought to be awarded the "bravest man of the year" for every year he lived.

Except he was scared of one thing that most weren't scared of: Butterflies.

And so, on a day where he didn't have to do anything at the Celestial Palace, Mestra took up his blue traveling cloak and threw it over his white-robed shoulders and set off to Faten Tathilia with a small net.

Squinting in the distance, all he could see for awhile was green and blue. And then some brown. And then some red--wait--what was red?

Mestra leaned forward onto his toes in a lush green field as he continued to squint to identify the red.

Unfortunately, even Celestials have to adhere to the laws of gravity and therefore, by ignoring his center of balance, Mestra fell face-first onto the soft ground in no time flat (no pun intended).

Getting up, the dark-haired Celestial shook his head and spat out some dirt from his mouth.

"That's it...the glasses are coming out!" he declared, reaching into his pocket.

Within seconds, he had pushed his overlarge glasses up the bridge of his nose and everything around him gained sharp detail. It was exhilarating and scary at the same time.

Getting up, he snapped his fingers and got the dirt off his white robes.

Pushing his green hair away from his eyes, he looked around for the red again.

It didn't take long for the red to be identified as it came right up to his face and landed on his nose.

Mestra froze, eyes growing wide as he stared at the long-torsoed, brilliant-winged insect twitching and flapping on his nose.

The net he had previously fell from his clammy hands. His face draining of color as his heart threatened to accelerate faster than sound.

And then came the banshee-worthy scream and the mad circle dash around the field, creating a crude version of a crop circle as the Celestial ran about for minutes after the scared butterfly had flown away.

In fact, he would've still been running had he not almost ran into someone while he made a mad dash away from his circle. Swerving, he crashed to the side and his glasses flew, landing a few feet away as he remained on the ground, face toward the sky this time with a dazed expression.

Kita walked about aimlessly, her wolf pouncing on leaves rustling in the low branches of trees. She grinned and watched the few butterflies here flutter and fly about. She should have caught one, but it was far too funny to watch them, anyways.

Kita kept walking, eyes looking around to take in the Holylands. It was all so different, she thought- much different. Here the butterflies weren't usually poisonous!

Then came the blood-curdling scream from a ways off in the fields. Kita's ears picked it up clearly, and she covered her ears. To an Untamed with keen hearing, it was deafening. She ran, however, towards the source, using all her Untamed speed and agility.

As she came, she saw a red butterfly in a spiderweb, and, legs pumping, jumped up and caught it in her hands, picking off the sticky silk as she went.
Her wolf loped behind her, closing in on the source of the insistent screaming.

Kita's ears popped, and she howled once, short and loud. She saw the screaming being running around in circles, again and again. She didn't look too hard, her ears hurt too much. But it-he?- veered off from his circle and thudded straight into her. She yelped. "Ouch!"

As she sat up after being knocked down by something larger than her, she glared daggers at the being. "Hey! Watch out! What're you screaming at anyway?!"

She shot him a dirty glance and checked on the butterfly in her hands. It was fine, albeit scared half to death. She looked at the screamer, and realized it was a Celestial. Why hadn't she noticed the wings before? She glanced at the Celestial. "Hey- your glasses..." she remarked, grabbing them and placing them back on his lap. "And really- WHAT made you scream like that?! You nearly bursted my eardrums! It better be good; I was having fun until you started screeching like a banshee." she said angrily, and then uncupped her hands to let the butterfly go. It stayed in her hands, antennae twitching. Kita looked back up at the celestial, waiting for an answer, as her wolf nosed him with a wet muzzle, asking for attention to her friend.

The first thing Mestra did was sit up straight as a board, squinting around at the patches of colors that surrounded him. Everything had very vague shapes. Almost solid.

However, the Celestial might as well just declare himself worse than a blind man without his glasses.

He barely realized that the mass he'd hit was another humanoid creature. In fact, Mestra would not have had even noted that she was talking to him had she not left something heavy on his lap.

Snapping out of his stupor, he warily placed the very tips of his fingers over whatever it was. After feeling the outside of it, he discovered it was his glasses. And so, without further dallying, the Celestial grabbed them and shoved them up the bridge of his nose, throwing everything back into startling focus.

"And really- WHAT made you scream like that?! You nearly bursted my eardrums! It better be good; I was having fun until you started screeching like a banshee." Mestra slowly looked over, but quickly recoiled with fear at the sight of the creature on the female's hand.

"M-Make it go away!" he screamed at her as he started to frantically scoot away from her in his sitting position, hitting her wolf carelessly with his limbs in the process.

Kita wrinkled her nose, and looked at the butterfly cupped in her hands. Nakita Sholu knew how to respect life, for sure, though she ate meat. She didn’t hurt it, and she checked quickly for a broken wing. If it had a broken wing, then, no matter how scared the Celestial was, he would heal it. Celestials could do that, she guessed.

As she sniffed the air, a natural reflex for her, she could simply smell the fear on him. Kita wondered if it was her wolf. But then, he shoved his glasses onto their position on his nose.

The Celestial screamed. Kita covered her ears, and opened her mouth for a bellow.

She was interrupted by the Celestial’s shrill screech- “M-make it go away!”

Kita then glared at him, and held her hand up, letting the butterfly flap its wings a few times and then flutter hesitantly off of the safety of her palm. The Celestial had hit her wolf a few times- that was not to be tolerated. “Happy now?! Are you quite finished screaming and hitting my friend?!”

Kita gave him an icy stare, and bared her teeth. The sharp canines seemed to match her wolf’s, and her crossed arms showed the slight claws on the Untamed’s hands. “Well?” she said.
