Title: Drakeston

The ships of the Neueland Company sailed toward the great river in the great harbor. The river was initially navigable, and they went up a little ways toward a green clearing on a small hill, surrounded with woodlands and with nearby swamps and grasslands. Francois disembarked his ship with an initial landing crew, and, planted the flag of the Neuland Company, which was the banner of the Prince of Foix intersected with that of all the other nobility who had put money into the corporation, and with a canton bearing the Serdian flag, along with a normal Serdian flag.

He declared, "From henceforth and forever more, this shall be the land of the Province of Neueland, and I hereafter declare the township to be built on this site to be the Capital of the Province of Neueland, and it shall be named, in the honor of his Majesty...

Drakeston."

After some time, the colonists at Neueland have constructed a small town, including basic cabins for every family in Drakeston. There has been a basic stockade constructed, as well as a lumber mill to prepare wood for the basic cabins.

Many of the men, in searching through the lands, have found many furred animals, relatively small, wandering the unexplored continent. Using them for food as a temporary source, they have begun to skin the animals, and several furs have been prepared for return to Serdio, for examination by the Board and their specialists. Three of the five ships have embarked back for Serdio, in order to bring back the furs and the earliest reports of the Unexplored Continent, as well as retrieve tools, food, and medical supplies for use in Drakeston.

The river was swift, the underbrush thin and the journey in general had been quick and easy. Jacob O’Henry was surprised at his good fortune, but cautious enough not to take this ease for granted.

The town of Drakeston was more generous than Landing Station, which had no general plan or outline and which had grown organically, without plan.

In addition, the people who populated Drakeston were of a different breed than the adventures who had established temporary bases in Landing Station.

Nonetheless, Jacob and his emissaries disembarked from their tiny vessel and made their way towards the town, seeking whoever had been put in charge of this second town on the new continent.

"Hello, there." said a man out of the blue near O'Henry, who was wearing a general working clothes. He looked up, saying, "Welcome to Neueland and to Drakeston. I'm Jean-Drake Bouvier."
