One can fully see the deplorable conditions that the lowest of Neo Zealan society are practically forced to subsist in. Scrap heap homes, made of sheet metal and discarded rotten wood. Doors made of chicken wire, stoves built over wodden furnaces, no modern commodities, a stagnant pool of water for drinking and cooking, and most reviled of all, a communal ditch for bodily functions.

Children are crammed in exponnential numbers into tiny two room shacks that would barely qualify as a dog house in most other places. No grass grows here and the ground water is tainted to severe degrees. One in three children will die before their sixth birthday and most will barely live past forty.

Yet somehow, in this dim and unforgiving environment, hope can constantly be seen amongst the people. The hope that one day they might be promoted and their skills recognized and that they will be able to better ensure the safety and well-being of their children. Families look out for each other and close bonds are formed between families, often resulting in several marriages between them.

This is the world of the lowest class and the grim reality of life in N.E.O. Z.E.A.L.
