I was using PS 8.0 for the last few years but due to a variety of different reasons I have now have to use PS 6.0. Despite the appearance being different and looking older, are there any changes that are much different from the version i used to have?

Probably not much... Maybe a fewer filters that you probably wouldn't have used anyways.
