September banner is looking good but it needs some work. The animations are good but letting them repeat takess attention straight to that and it's kinda distracting.
First, you should add another frame that just says WCR with the logo or something. After that, I think you can just add stop(); to the last frame's script so it doesn't keep repeating.

i think ferny knows how to stop these animations, because if i remember correctly, he did so with the august banner.

to me this looks kind of hurried, if ferny had spent more time on it, im sure it would be flawless.

yeah looks really good, but it runs a little fast, and isn't as smooth as it probably could be. the idea is awesome and the text is cool. i would run through more walls, and keep them the same size as the first 2, and then just have it stop with some cool ending image.

I think its awesome.. but i agree its too short.

Guys. I actually did it. I was just mucking around in class and practicing animating type. It was the first one i did in flash. Sent it to Ferny cuz i knew he been busy lately. Some things are not quite working right, cuz the flashes you see in the bg are ment to be white not black, and that last pic is bigger as thats where it should stop. I know heaps more now and could have done a much better job but was just trying to help out.

the textwork and creativity did seem to be a bit high for ferny's level of work...... :P

anyways, if this is an old one, i can't wait to see a new an improved version for next month please B) this one is awesome though assassin.....great work as always.

oh yeah if you uncheck loop, and rewind it and play it again, it goes slower, at least for me, and it also stops like it should. looks really nice that way....i wonder why it doesn't default to those settings. the last image probably isn't the wall or pic i'd use but it looks good. and i do think if it scrolled through a few more walls it'd be even better.

Flash files are automatically supposed to loop. If you have flash sites, I think you need to keep it in loop. If you want to stop, you can just put stop() at the last frame.

Hey jon, are you taking a flash class or were you just messing around with it during some other design course?

JR, i am currently about 7/8 the way through my Diploma in Graphic Design.... but i will probably continue next year for the advanced diploma. All the stuff we've done up till now has been geared towards print, but one of my electives this semester is web design. So we have touched on flash a bit. This is the reason you dont see many walls from me these days.
I will try fix up the banner and send it to Ferny.

Another thing that would be a good idea instead of just using the built-in motion tween is using actionscript for it (unless you already did that).

BTW, what school do you attend? Also, do you plan to take any web development classes to learn PHP/MySQL etc. in the future or are you focusing more on just graphics? Sorry for hijacking the topic...

There isn't a new banner in the forum, everyone has been talking about the one on the main site.

The banner at the top (of this forum) should be changed. It's good but it's been there for a while. Make a new one. Im sure it will look awesome.

Yeah guys, we have changed the SITE banner monthly, but havent changed the forum banner yet, because we all really like it right now. Maybe we'll get around to changing it sometime....but who knows.

is the format for ur banners .swf or .gif?

the site one is in flash so it's .swf and the forum one is a GIF or a JPEG
