Title: Best Console
Description: Let the flamming wars begin.......
Hunter2049 - October 26, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
Which one's your favorite? Mine has to be the N64......ah such fond memories....
fantanoice - November 6, 2004 03:54 AM (GMT)
Best Consol - XBox
Fav Consol: Gamecube
I ain't voting!
junoluver - November 17, 2004 02:25 AM (GMT)
VIRTUAL BOY!
Eheh...no. N64 really was a great system. Well-balanced, and some of my favorite games of all time were on that console. I like SNES a lot though too. Gamecube was a lot of fun for a while, but eh, just didn't create classics for me (aside from SSBM) and I never cared much for Sony systems. XBox as a whole doesn't really move me, but for Halo it's worth it. *Still needs Halo 2 very badly*
fantanoice - November 17, 2004 07:34 AM (GMT)
There is no point in getting an XBox, except for Halo1/2, and Conker when it comes out. I ma get an XB2, for B3ee.
murmur - December 16, 2004 12:01 PM (GMT)
:) Mine is definatly the N64. Thank you Hunter, for the mp3 music! The music made me reminisce about the games of the past and how none of todays games match up to their standards. But the main reason why the N64 was my favourite was Zelda Ocarina of Time. Now that was the greatest game i have ever played. ;) Big hint Hunter! try and get Zelda music please.
Hunter2049 - December 16, 2004 10:13 PM (GMT)
Already have it :D Do you have MSN Messenger account, murmur? I'd be happy to send them to you that way, or if not, I can just E-mail them to you.....right now I don't have permission to host them all :D
fantanoice - December 28, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)
I'm still not voting. Each system has advantages and disadvantages. The is no REAL best consol, end of story.
Zinger - December 28, 2004 07:38 AM (GMT)
Exactly. Each console has different games, different specs, etc. Really, there is no best console, so to speak. It's all based on what the consumer wants; for a standard console, Gamecube and the past platforms are the way to go. Whereas if one wanted to have a console/media center, he/she should go with either the Xbox or PS2.
Also, Hunter- are those the Oot mp3s you have? If so, that's okay. It's just that I was going to upload a MM sountrack.
Hunter2049 - December 28, 2004 07:28 PM (GMT)
Yup, their OOT, so by all means, go for Majora's Mask, man :D
Ricky - December 30, 2004 03:38 AM (GMT)
i would to go with the xbox. thats all i play now really. with all the Live mumbo jumbo. its all good :D
Hunter2049 - December 30, 2004 06:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah, you're not to bad on Halo 2, fifteenthpeak :D
fantanoice - January 11, 2005 07:13 AM (GMT)
All I wanted to say has already been said.
Hunter2049 - February 16, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
With all the talk of new systems at E3 this year, I wouldn't be surprised if "none of the above" isn't the best answer after a while.......
blizzard224 - February 17, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)
Ah!
N64 or SNES?
How to decide???
fantanoice - February 19, 2005 09:38 AM (GMT)
Crowe - February 20, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
The Nokia N-Gage.
END OF CONTEST.
Okay I'm joking. Virtual Boy is the one I adore most, butI don't own one, although one of my friends did. As far as ones I own, it has to be the SNES.
Hunter2049 - February 22, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
Man, you guys have got to register so you can vote, ! Yeah, I totally agree that the N64 was the best, I LOVED OOT, but it was really the system that I "grew up" on, you know? It was the one that I really developed my love for gaming......*tear*.....
murmur - March 14, 2005 09:07 PM (GMT)
:( soz i havent replyed back to you in ages hunter! :D Big thanx for the OOT tunes! :P and i've already made my vote for Majora's Mask tunes!! and it would be much appreciated if you could send me them over messenger :) would that still be okay?
Hunter2049 - March 14, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
Actually you have to do them through Fileplanet now, but don't worry, just click for it to start and leave your computer, it'll do the rest ;) You can do it at night if you want, just leave it there and in the morning you'll have songs :D I can't do it over messenger because it's just too big of a file......good to see you back!
CrAZYGAMer'sBRo - April 11, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
I like ps2 :) monster hunter :)
Payneos Maxamaian - April 12, 2005 12:38 PM (GMT)
It's ridiculous for me to sit here and say which console was best... it's too hard to determine. Each console has it's strengths and weaknesses, except for the N-Gage which was just a steaming poop pile... and Atari Jaguar, who's controller had far too many buttons with no use.
That said, I also have no favorites. If there's a console there, I will play it (except N-Gage and Jaguar) simply because they're all good. I could sit there with one console and list all the good games I've played WITH that console. Oh the memories...
Celedux - April 13, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
N64 and SNES are my two favorites. However, GameCube and PS2 are both close behind.

Hunter2049 - April 26, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Well, first, register, second, request it. We have a whole forum dedicated to asking for music :) Speaking of which, there's a-plenty of Sonic songs comming soon to VGTunes, thanks to some of our loyal fans and the trusty "song submit" button ;)!
Snood - May 8, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
N64 still have memories of Zelda games and walking through hyrule and termina fields on epona......
Payneos Maxamaian - May 10, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
N64 for it's revolutionary games. Goldeneye domination and Zelda: OOT fun... I STILL toss the newer systems aside to play Goldeneye/Perfect Dark with friends.
Snood - May 11, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
I was although 7 when I got my N64, so I never did buy perfect dark, but it's the same game play as golden eye.....
Payneos Maxamaian - May 12, 2005 11:38 PM (GMT)
Not necessarily true. Perfect Dark added very intelligent and highly advanced bots, all weapons (except one or two) had a secondary function... more customizable characters... it was a whole new game, my friend.
Snood - May 13, 2005 11:16 AM (GMT)
MY PARENTS DIDN'T LET ME BUY MATURE RATED GAMES........
Payneos Maxamaian - May 14, 2005 12:32 AM (GMT)
Nor did mine... I got PD as a gift for my 13th birthday. And he figured why bother returning it? I already was playing GoldenEye... which was the best (and first) 1st person console shooter.
Snood - May 14, 2005 11:57 AM (GMT)
I'm thirteen right now....................and it would be a tough time finding it.
Celedux - May 15, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
I love Goldeneye as well, I've played a ton of that game, but Perfect Dark is still better. I played the absolute hell outta that game! I loved it, and still do.
I got it a couple months after it came out... so, I'm not sure how old I was then. Probably 13 or 14?
Snood - May 15, 2005 02:38 PM (GMT)
Well when I played my N64 I played the mario games, donkey Kong 64...and Zelda......
Zelda MESSED ME UP......I remember going to the tomb to get the sun song and running into the REDEAD......That really messed me up, I was about 8 or 9 and it scarred the crap out of me....and I never like them since.....
Celedux - May 15, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Hah, those ReDeads were nuts! They scared me a bit too when I first met 'em in Ocarina of Time.
However, I feel Ocarina of Time is probably the best game ever made, Majora's mask being close to it as well. I don't know why people like Majora less than Ocarina, probably just because it's more difficult.

Snood - May 15, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
I Don't know, I like Majora's Mask because it was innovative, that you can go back in time and start a new part, and if you screwed up, just go back in time (Like the when the ghost try to obduct the cows......how weird)
Very interesting in Majora's mask that ummm the Redeads dance if you where the skull commander mask Gibdo mask or the ghost mask (I forget the name of that one but it looked like a ghost). Oh ya and why do the redeads HUMP YOU..it is really sick and desturbing I mean they are "E" rated games, you wouldn't think they would bet so sexual......obviously Japanize don't know that, that is explict.
(I think this is going a little off-topic)
Arma - October 1, 2005 10:51 AM (GMT)
If Dinosaur Planet was released maybe the N64.

PS2? ahhhhhhh, it's backwards compatible. It plays DREAMCAST games!!!
And for all you mummies toys: Diddy Kong Country beats Sonic 2. Mario savagely rapes himself in a dark corner, eating suspect aphrodisiac mushrooms.
Ryan - April 10, 2006 04:33 PM (GMT)
I vote for the gamecube but the 64s is cool too, there alot alike, the gamecube is like a super 64.
TIM - April 12, 2006 01:08 AM (GMT)
i have to go with GC, nintendo ROCKS!!!!!!!! very durable machine ;)
cartooning_monkey - April 13, 2006 06:18 AM (GMT)
Yeah . . . I really liked the GC, while they were still making games for it. 2005 was a very bleak year for Nintendo. Although Resident Evil 4 was a great game. Better than Half-life 2 in my opinion, and as you can tell from my signature, that is saying a lot. (For me)
I can understand Resident Evil 4, take a
lookie,getting in the
most violent games of 2005, but not F.E.A.R.???!! COME ON! YOU BLOW YOUR ENEMIES HEADS OFF WITH YOU SHOTGUN, YOU TEAR LIMBS OFF! I don't get it.
Oh, and Leon (main character of RE4) gets his head chopped clean off, pretty gruesome yet so awesome at the same time.
