Oh, well if Half-life Expansions count, I have finished Opposing Force and Blue Shift.
NEWS FLASH!
Blue Shift is really bad and short and Opposing Force hard!
imkopaka - August 24, 2005 06:15 PM (GMT)
yup. Blue Shift lives up to its name. BS. opposing force is pretty cool. i love the squad member thing, and the new weapons.
cartooning_monkey - August 25, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah, did you have a glitch in Blue Shift where the flashlight wouldn't turn off unless it wanted to?

cartooning_monkey - August 26, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Ah, good, so it isn't just me! That's a relief! Sort of.
fattest_matt - September 4, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
Am I the only one here that liked Blue Shift?
Anyway, I've played through Serious Sam and it was really good, but not so much as Half-Life and the holy grail of FPS: Half-Life 2. As for the rest of the list, well, I haven't played those games, and I'm not a big fan of RTS games either.
Although, if you like FPS and RTS, I highly recommend the Natural Selection mod for the original Half-Life.

Yes you are.
I swear Unreal stole my idea for a game, but I guess the scenario had to happen. Could have been done so much better......
I don't understand the trend that no-story is ok if the visuals are in there and the action is fast. Maybe we are now getting to the point where we can fill in the blanks.
I hope so, Arma
cartooning_monkey - September 13, 2005 03:44 PM (GMT)
Blue shift had kind of an interesting persperctive on the story and the end was pretty cool. But not really.

The Staff were far fom hard and the mad scientists were not.
It was not a dark game, and it could have been. It had caves yet there was no black, dew, sounds of wateer or moss. Yet again the public are impressed with an underdone venture. There is no reason for developers to be geeks and not get laid twice as much for being creative.
Any ideas on what you'd like life to be if you could respawn?
It's not a nice feeling being shot, hurts enough when you bruise a shin. I don't see enough power in games, I am not imbued with the evil of the human brain, I don't sleep in the corner on the ground with my eyes open. I don't want to live so badly I go outside and run and climb the machine cut beside a road to risk something.
Games are not only for kids but it seems that way, people are staying children, you don't find a lot of rational men around.
It's ok to shoot people but not to see women naked or engaging intercourse. This is sane. Fucking mild and needs to reach it's end.

1a. half life Complete reinvigorated FPS that year. Story was going straight down the toilet then hl showed up. wonderful. beat.
1b. half life 2 About the most perfect shooter i have ever played. Graphics check, story, check and most importantly it was fun. It was one of the few games that kept me up til 6 in the morning playing.
2. serious sam Very fun games. think old school doom and make it crazier with a nice sense of humor. Serious sam 2 is good but ti feels like they tried to hard to make it better. beat 1st second encounter.
3a. red alert
3b. red alert 2
4a. c&c generals
4b. c&c generals: zero hour I have all four of these games but i have never beaten them. I enjoy RTS but they take too much time to get good at :)
5. duke nuken 3d Shake it baby! This will be a classic 'Forever'!
6. earthsiege 2 hmmm nope
7. die hard: nakatomi plaza nope again
8a. unreal So what if it didn't have a plot? Neither did quake? For it's time, it was a definitive shooter.
8b. unreal 2: the awakening Alot of people trashed this for being more of a tech demo than game. I enjoyed it imensly. The Chick was hot too :)
9a. unreal tournament Trumped quake 3 imo by being more varied. And it certainly looked beter. Quakes palette seemed so dull when compared to classics such as face.
9b. unreal tournament 2004 ut taken to the extreme. I have 15 gigs! of ut 2004 on my pc!
10. death rallyHoly cow what a wonderful old school racer! This game was so much fun! and then you add weopons...
11. animorphs: know the secret Oh lord... they have a game?
I would like to add f.e.a.r. that was the only game i've played that came close to knocking HL-2 off it's throne. Holy cow was that ghame sweet. If you own a comp and can handle it, buy it.
darkjedi - October 31, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
Played all C&C games (except Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, couldn't get it as singles anymore), but yeah...I've played (and beaten) RA, RA2, Generals, and Generals:ZH. So imkopaka, what do you want to know?
