Title: Handheld War
Description: Let the flamming war begin....again...

I personally think that the DS will be better, for the simple fact that Nintendo has been making handhelds for a LONG time....what do you guys think?

hum, thats hard.
Even though im a nintendo fan i dont think the DS will show the true ability of nintendo. The reason why is simply that the DS is there just to compete with PSP.
In the end i feel that even the PSP will beat nintendo the simple reason being, more people have turned to playstation.
Which is better.
Gaming wise nintendo will have the best games on DS
Popularity wise, the PSP will succeed
:(

The "kiddy game" kiss of death has been slapped right on the DS, so the PSP will probably win out because of which. Unless Nintendo does some serious reevaluation of their games and the games they commit to as a company, Zelda, Mario, all will be lost. Nintendo's last strong market IS the Hand-Held, and if they lose that, they'll go the way of the Sega/Atari.
murmur - April 12, 2005 02:35 PM (GMT)
you're right and that'll totally suck! i really dont understand what they are playing at though. :( nevermind
Payneos Maxamaian - April 13, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah... it will suck. But that's the way it works. Maybe EA will try to get in the console business. They're taking over everything else...
murmur - April 13, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
EA? They're a big enough company but would they really add anything origional to the console market? I wouldn't put it past em though. They make tonnes of money from the amount of games they produce! none of which i actually own. All abit... well... rubbish?

When does EA EVER add anything original to the market? Pfft.

Biased? What? It's a community of gamers. I can't see a bias, unless it's a bias against crap. Sure, it's more of a nostalgia community, but STOP TRYING TO FIND LOGIC HOLES!

Well, the sad truth is the PSP blows the DS out of the water with many more features and better hardware. As for the games, there arnt that many so that cant be judged accurately. The DS is getting a very unique Castlevania title however, you use the touch pad to draw symbols which in turn executes your spells(very cool).

Not entirely true, I say........the Game Boy Advance is a great system for what it does, it's just that I'm never on the road for long periods of time when I'm not driving. I'd rather just play PC or console games instead when I'm at home.
cartooning_monkey - August 1, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
Whatever.
I do like console and PC a thousand times more than any handheld, but I'll play my GBA on the plane and stuff. I think the GBA is handy sometimes. As for DS vs. PSP, I'd say PSP. I mean, I like Nintendo and dislike Sony, but Nintendo can have some really dumb and pointless ideas, like the touch screen. For stuff like Mario 64 DS, the touch screen is useless. The only game that I have played that has had any good use for the touch screen has been Warioware Touched! (play the Ashley theme song as fast as possible) I have never played a PSP because I do not really like handhelds so it is not fair for me to judge. That is my opinion.

Why don't we just destroy these two topics? No one ever looks at them.

Yee haw, another poll that has become completely ignored, with 10 votes!

I think both systems have there ups and downs. PSP will have the option to play movies and music on it, which i think is pretty cool. DS on the other hand is going to have some really great wireless features. It will be able to use a wireless network that your computers at home might run on, and then make it so you can play anyone in the world! Titles with this feature include mario kart ds and animal crossing ds. Over all i think ds will win. One reason ds I think is doing better is because it came out first. Also, I would rather have wireless features than movies and music (i already have an ipod so theres no need for the music feature), so i think in the end the ds will win the competition.

That's not entirely true. The part about playing anyone in the world. I can only Play/Chat with people who happen to have a DS 30 meters away from my positon. So bassicly it's the same its always been except with out wires and I dont have to smell my friend's bad breath.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Enough said.
Zyphyer - October 31, 2005 04:17 PM (GMT)
I saw a PSP in action. the Lcd screen ghosts way too much for my liking (Midnight club) I have not played a DS for comparison.... wait i saw the dog game bt i wont count that.
The ds plays old games right? that would be a huge plus. Either way, i plan on getting neither. Games are way to expensive and most of them come out in better form on pc or console. (note i said MOST) I'll stick with my advance.
Nap - October 31, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
Good thinking, almost all of the DS games suck A**! I've never seen a PSP in action so i cant comment there. However I own a DS and almost never use it. It does play old games but the way the buttons are potioned makes it hard to play the older games (it only plays advance games, not old skool gb games).
Zyphyer - November 2, 2005 01:36 PM (GMT)
it doesn't play old school? What the hell! Mario 6 golden coins is STILL one of the best Game boy games ever!

Personally, im going with the DS, for the fact ive played nintendos systems all my life
I grew up with the NES SNES and Gameboy, those were great
Now with the DS, ill be able to play games online with my friends
Also, if I want to play the castlevania games, im going to have to go with the DS :)
I go for something different rather than better graphics
(Revolution)
Nintendo all the way
Ive never seen a psp anyways, dont think I care to.
On a side note : Im hoping konami puts SoTN onto either the gamecube or xbox :(
