On a recent Wednesday meander in search of pub grub and photographs it being a promise of a fine day and the moor having had an inch of rain the previous day opted for Hexworthy Bridge where the West Dart might be in spate.
It was reasonable but not what I wanted. As usual the media exaggerates any bad weather news for the southwest.
Southwest Highways who know better decided that this is the day to start to tar spray and chip the road so I grabbed a few hurried shots and moved off to Merrivale avoiding the Two Bridges which is on our black list.
Had a satisfactory lunch, Doom Bar Ale followed by Faggots with the usual trimmings and Spotted Dick and custard, real gourmet stuff!
A group of handicapped adults from a minibus came in with us and whilst ear wigging the carer thanked the landlord for his attention and hospitality, and mentioned that at an establishment down the road they had been asked to go to a rear room.
Now to the photos, I had taken a few and elsewhere noted that the Plymouth u3a Geology group are doing a visit on august 8th when there will be a high tide of 4.4m at 14:12. This made me think what one of my shots might be like at high tide so it has been given a blast of Photoshop.
