Title: DPS Gallery
Description: Open for Business

Tom Molloy - March 22, 2007 12:31 PM (GMT)
Well some of you have seen it and helped to test it and now we are throwing it open to you all.

The all new DPS Online Gallery is now open for business here:

http://www.disabledphotographers.com/Gallery

You will need to register, like you did here, although approval is not necessary, yet!

I will be locking that door down, like it is here, to keep out the less desireable elements of cyberspace, very soon.

Please feel free to go and look.

To upload images you will need to create an album or three to put the images into.

The maximum size of images you can upload is 800 pixels on the longest edge, and no files can be bigger than 399kb.

You might run out of space as the system does not dump the old files when it resizes them for the gallery. If you do, let me know and I can run a routine to dump full size files that are not needed. I will do this periodicaly anyway.

Any comments or suggestions you know where I am, just shout.

Hi everybody

I have made a very small change to the address of the Gallery.

All that has been done was to remove the 2 from the end of the address so the gallery can now be found at

http://www.disabledphotographers.com/Gallery

Please make sure you update any bookmarks or favourites you have saved.

Gallery 2 was only ever meant to be a test and this change removes the unnessesary "2" tag.

All of your images are still there and there is no difference to any of the other data as it uses the same database as before. If any of you have any password problems just let me know and I can sort it for you.

I will keep gallery2 there for a little while, with a link to the new home for it, but I will delete it in a few weeks time so please make sure you are in the correct gallery before uploading any images.

This should be that last time you will be inconvenienced and I hope you all enjoy the facility.

The DPS Online Gallery - how to use it
Some of you will have already seen that the DPS now has its own Online Gallery that all DPS members can now visit and upload their own images to.

http://www.disabledphotographers.com/gallery

It’s completely free to join but to upload anything onto the Gallery you will need to register, via the register link at the top of the gallery page, by providing an active and current email address. This helps us to keep it secure and all email addresses will be kept completely confidential and cannot be viewed by anybody else.

Once you have completed the registration form click on continue.

An email will then be sent you. In that email there will be a link that you will then need to click to “validate” the email address you gave. Once you have done this you are then able to log in and start uploading images.

To upload images you will first need to create an album and you do this via the Create / order my albums button. When the next page opens up click “new” and then in the box below that replace the words "New Album" with whatever you want to call your album. Then just click on "Apply Modifications" to complete the process. Repeat as necessary for other new albums.

Once you have created an album or two you can then upload some images via the Upload File button.

That will open a page with 5 boxes and a browse button next to each of them. Start at the top one and click browse and then you can find the image on your computer that you want to upload. When you have selected your images click “continue” at the bottom of the page. If you only want to upload one or two image’s just leave the rest of the boxes blank.

When you upload an image or images a page will then open that says, "upload successful" click continue and on the next page you can give them a title and place them into your album. If you don’t put them into an album they are deleted from the site memory and you will have to upload them again.

File sizes are limited; they must be smaller than 400 kb and no bigger than 800 pixels on the longest edge.

If you have any problems or difficulty with the gallery you can email me directly at

dpsforum-gallery@yahoo.com

And I will do all I can to help.
