Our equipment is precious to us and we are always concerned that we damage it while out on a shoot.

The first stop to consider for cover is your household insurance, ask if your equipment is covered on your household contents insurance; you will find that most companies add this at no extra charge.

If you want to take out specific photographic cover here is a list of insurance companies:

Amateur Photographers Insurance by Towergate

Domestic & General Entertainment Plan

Golden Valley Insurance Services Photocover

© Pavilion Insurance Management Ltd Photoguard

If you own a Nikon camera you could consider joining Nikonians and looking at their NikSecure™

If buying from Jessops or Tecno I would recomend taking out their Photo+ Warranty (1+2 Years) which also covers you against accidental damage

Another extended warranty to consider is a Mack warranty which can be bought online from many eBay sellers; this will cover you against manufacturing defects but not accidental damage
