Title: FUJI FINPIX S1000FD
Description: ADVICE

BOSE - July 13, 2008 11:52 AM (GMT)
Hi Everyone
After my FUJIPIX S7000 Digital Camera died the other daywith a ZOOM ERROR Message, after five years of use I decided instead of paying FUJIS asking price of £100 to fix it I would treat my sel to A BRAND NEW Camera.

The one I have chosen is THE NEW FUJIPIX S1000FD due to its fast focusing small size and panorama feature.

It comes on Tuesday.

Does anyone on here use this camera and if so what do you think of it?

Also does anyone know if it will take A SKY LIGHT Filter to protect the lens and if so, what size.
Cheers
tony

Hi Tony

A quick look at the spec for the S1000FD tells me that it does not have a filter thread on the lens so fitting a UV filter will not be easy.

If you are just worried about keeping the lens clean then I would go and buy some optical wipes form your local supermarket and give the lens an occasional gentle wipe to remove any dust or smears from it. Alternatively something like a lens pen can be used and is equally efficient, click here for an example of one
(page says there is an error in running script just ignore and choose "yes")
