Title: Welcome!
Description: This is your first place to post!

Glorfindel - August 11, 2005 08:16 PM (GMT)
We are glad to see you have an interest in our small roleplay board. We are writers, or aspiring writers, who enjoy roleplay. We look at ourselves as a team and we try writing as one, supporting each other, offering friendly criticism, helping each other improve. Some of our members are stronger writers than others, some take initiative and some work within what others write, but however its done its our goal that it should be fun for all!

If you have joined us, please let us know you are here by a post. This is the place to tell us about yourself, about what you hope to do on this board and maybe about your experience, or even your lack of experience, in writing roleplay.

If you have questions please ask them in the thread below this one. Someone will be sure to help you.

Elladan - August 25, 2005 03:21 PM (GMT)
 AHHHH!...Sorry it took me so long to sign up to TE Glorfindel. My characters are Legolas Greenleaf and Elladan. But if someone shows up and wishes to have the role of Legolas,I will gladly let them have it.It would'nt be fair for me to have two characters, and they none now would it? :)

Newcomers, don't feel shy one bit! Once you get to know this group it turns into one big 'ol family and your hooked. :D

~Elladan~

Glorfindel - August 25, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
Hi Elladan!

Good to see you finally arrived :P If you look at the membership roster you will see we do have a Legolas. He is roleplaying in the Search for the Elven Ring forum, maybe he will PM you so you can talk. I see you also joined as Elladan Peredhil so I will delete that name from the membership to keep things tidy. :D

You will have fun here, there are lots of great people! Many of which you have met at Middle Earth Palace already.

Pard Lancer - August 26, 2005 01:20 PM (GMT)
Hiya cool site.

Tulus - August 26, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
Its nice to see so many new faces joining and roleplaying lately. Welcome to the site pard. Its lots of fun to do Tolkien characters and those Tolkien just forgot to include in his books in more detail.

I hope you have many happy role play moments. :D

Araglas - August 29, 2005 04:16 PM (GMT)
Nice site!

Glorfindel - August 29, 2005 04:52 PM (GMT)
Welcome to Tol Eressëa Aragorn! It will be good to have someone here roleplaying the race of men for we have mainly elves right now and a few orcs and a nazgul or two. :D

What do you want to do here? Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

As mentioned in the PM I sent you, you might enjoy meeting the roleplayers from here at Middle Earth Palace

I hope you enjoy writing your roleplay here and make many friends who enjoy the same thing you do. :D

Araglas - August 29, 2005 05:27 PM (GMT)
Well, I am a huge fan of LOTR and other stuff. I tried to join a few LOTR sites but they arent active. uh, I came here wanted a LOTR site, saw no one was Aragorn and saw there was an arwen so I joined! and I am getting the thing from middle earth palace now so yeah.

And on this site You should have seperate Areas so we can either travel there or set up camp there, that would be really good to have

Glorfindel - August 29, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
In my opinion, if there are too many places to go on a site, new members get lost and confused as to where they can start. I also feel that to have too many roleplays going at one time will cause some roleplays that are not very exciting to whither away and no one posts to them. The vitality of a roleplay board is due to good writing and daily posting. :)

Elessar - August 30, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
I am Elessar. I am new. Some of you will know me from Middle-Earth. I will try my best to participate in the role-play as much as I can. I will say though that my posts will be few and far between due to the time I have to put into my schoolwork. I'm lost on where the story is right now so please enlighten me. Diolla lle.

Elessar - August 30, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
Well, I just noticed that Aragorn came here just before me. So maybe I shouldn't be Elessar.

Araglas - August 31, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
Naw it doesn't matter does it I dont do anything here anyway

I could give you my bio and be someone else

Elessar - August 31, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
It's ok, dude. I won't be able to participate much in here either, unfortunately. I'll just be too busy. You can be the King. If I do participate, I have someone else in mind already. Thanks for the offer. Just be sure to represent the Race of Men well.

Celulind - August 31, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
Forgive me, I'm slow on response due to faulty equipment... *shakes fist at computer* But, with that aside, welcome those of you I don't know yet! I haven't even had a chance to meet some of you who are involved with Middle Earth, because of this blasted piece of rubbish, but as soon as I get a new one, I'll do my best to catch up.

(Eugh.. I have the hiccups.)

So, without further ado, I'll let you all get on with your lives with a little greeting from moi, Cel.

taataa for now. *kissies*

Araglas - August 31, 2005 11:08 PM (GMT)
Hey man no you do it I changed my yo great grandaddy!

Arwen - September 10, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
I am Luthien. I'm new here. Can I be Luthien from The Simarillion? I'll also be Eowyn and Arwen. If someone else wants to be him I'm fine with that. I have some experience in roleplaying and writing. Currently I'm writing some stories for fun and I'm posting them on fanfiction.net.

Glorfindel - September 10, 2005 09:27 PM (GMT)
Glassen a chened le Luthien! I have sent you an answer to your PM. Welcome to Tol Eressëa! We are happy to have another member to add to our friendly community. Happy also to see that you already write, although writing is not a prerequisite to joining, it does help.

Glor

Neithan - September 15, 2005 02:58 PM (GMT)
Welcome to Tol Eressea Luthien. er, Arwen. Its good to see some new faces around here. Just ask questions and someone will respond.

Hey! That word of the day under the banner is kool! I wonder if anyone will use it?

Glorfindel - September 15, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Arwen, Elrond wrote you a message in the OOC discussion thread under Search for the Elven Ring. He also wrote you into his recent post so now you have a place to start. It seems you have an opportunity to enter the roleplay in some capacity as Arwen now. Your biography is good! Welcome to the active membership of Tol Eressëa!

Glor

Linwe Ancalime - September 19, 2005 12:49 AM (GMT)
Urm, Hello.
I am quite the newbie here, and I hope I will fit in here. I am an aspiring writer and poet, and I am greatly pleased to be among people who actually understang the importance of good grammer. (No offence ment to my RP buddies.)

I was wondering if it was accepted for us to have all origanal characters. I am sure they are, but I was a little put off by the wording of the post about that. I don't have very much experiance in RPG, though I am an active member on RoH, Realms of Hyrule, and some lesser known sites. I am an Admin on two of which.

I hope you all will accept me as the unexperianced person I am, and look forward to RPing with you all.

....Now, If only I knew where to start.......

Glorfindel - September 19, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
Welcome to Tol Eressëa Linwe Ancalime. You CAN have an original character as long as it fits into Tolkien's books comfortably and you create a biography sheet for her or him. In fact several of us have more than one roleplay character, because sometimes they are needed. We create a biography for the character and join under that character's name.

If you would tell me what put you off on the post and what post it was I will take a look at it. Maybe if you have a suggestion as to how to change it to make it more acceptable...

As for where to start. You can read the roleplay and decide where you can fit in. Or if you see a need for a character, you may wish to play that character. Make sure to communicate, use the out of character thread to discuss things so there is no mis-understanding. You might also want to avail yourself of Middle Earth Palace, where we all discuss our roleplay in a chat environment.

When you decide who you wish to roleplay, create a biography for your person and post it. In your signature put a link to that post so others can look at it as they write and get an idea of how to describe you and an understanding of your personality.

Welcome aboard.

Glor

Linwe Ancalime - September 19, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
Nevermind about the 'put off' thing. I get it now.

About my character, If it's not too much trouble I'd be greatly honored if you would follow at least one of these links. The last two are the better ones, but here are four of my character biographies from other sites. I love creating my character, but if I am to sculpt them into a copy of a Tolkein character than I am not sure I'd fit in much here. I am big on origonality, and if you are following exact plotlines here, I don't know how I'd react. I don't mean to soud rude. Here are the Links:

Glorfindel - September 19, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Linwe,

If you would check the roleplay threads, you should be able to understand what we are trying to do here. We would love to have you as a member here because we enjoy creativity - BUT within a set boundary. Its more fulfilling, as well as realistic, to what creative writers must go through in real life, when they must stay within creative boundaries of their own outlines and story plots. As a professional writer, musician and artist I think I understand creativity pretty well but its often misunderstood. I believe that, without guidelines, creativity goes into the realm of chaos! It is neither enjoyable to read, listen to or look at. There are rules to follow that will enhance creativity by limiting it. I know, it sounds odd, but I have found it to be true.

So on THIS site its up to you to create a believeable character, original or not, one that might have been written by JRR Tolkien himself. A character that would fit into Tolkien's works, modeled after Tolkien's elves, dwarves, humans, orcs, etc. If this does not appeal to you, let me know by PM and I will delete your membership and posts. If it does appeal to you, put a biography in the biography threads that follows our rules for characters.

Glor :D

Linwe Ancalime - September 19, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
....before I begin getting into this, I'd like to know what you though of my Links. I know I have a lot of spelling and grammatical errors, but being a musician and ameture writer yourself, I am sure you understand when you get those urges and Ideas that keep coming and so you want to get them down and let everyone read them, right? That's how it is with me and my characters. They all hold a special place in my heart, lol :P .

I'll check out some of the RPing in a little while... :D

Glorfindel - September 20, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
Hey Unurith! Its good to see you again! I had no idea this was you! I thought you had computer troubles! We could really use your roleplay and writing skills in one of the threads we have now, maybe Hall of Fire - The Departure. We will also be starting another roleplay from the 2nd age in a month or so if you are interested in the fall of Ost-in-Edhil. And... if you do some studying and a biography of a 1st age Elf, you could join us in the Helcaraxe Roleplay.

You are still on our membership as Unurith, I am very sorry to have taken your AR status away but since you haven't been back in many months and didn't post regularly I had to remove it to be fair to the other AR roleplayers. BUT, you can earn it back again once you get active in posting!

I looked at your four character links but find they are well removed from Tolkien's world and would be considered, in most roleplaying circles, "Mary Sue's". They are great characters, well developed, and colorful too, but would not be able to be used here. (We don't have half-elves or faeries) I do know however, that your character Melda was indeed within the boundaries of our rules here and done very well. I really enjoyed roleplaying alongside her! I am sure the others here will be happy to see you return once again.

Feel free to create another character and membership and put in a biography when you can!

Welcome back!

Glor :D

Eldirn - September 20, 2005 01:11 AM (GMT)
Unu?? Is it Unu?? OH BOY! Oh, honey, I really missed you so much when you left! I always so admired your writing and your level-headedness when so many of the other young folks would get bent out of shape about things.

It's really good to see you back. I hope you like what we've been doing in the meantime. :)

Erestor - September 20, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Its the Unubomer? Yaaaays welcome back! :D

Neithan - September 20, 2005 03:28 PM (GMT)
Welcome to Tol Eressea Linwe. Enjoy your time writing here.

Glorfindel - September 22, 2005 04:31 PM (GMT)
Linwe, are you there? :D

Its ok, you can fess up or not, if you want to be incognito you can just PM me to let me know, then rejoin as another member. As you can see, many of the membership here remember you and are happy to see you return! We miss you at Middle Earth Palace also.

Linwe Ancalime - September 22, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
I do not wish to embarass anyone, but I feel that you are all gravely mistaken. I do not know of any Unurith, nor am I that person. My name is Kay, and I am just someone who happened to stumble apon this site, by mistake. I thought I liked it, but I don't know. It's probably be awquard for me to stay now.....

Glorfindel - September 22, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
Oh, we don't embarrass that easily and if you wish to be called Kay, we can comply. Kay is a rather nice name.

As you know we are just a bunch of online friends who enjoy writing roleplay. The fact that you *feel* we are gravely mistaken and not that we *are* gravely mistaken makes me wonder if it is you who are the one who is embarrassed. There is no need to be embarrassed however. I invited you to PM me regarding the situation if you wish but I have yet to recieve your message. I am sure you know of IP numbers, and similarities in spelling and punctuation from prior posts that would lead us to come to the conclusion we have come to.

Anno enni Enner vellas,

Glor

Angmar - September 29, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
*shrieking sounds can be heard as a dark horse with blood-red eyes rears back and whinnies into the air*

*****
My name is Kryssie and uh...yeah...I was asked to check out the site and I can't turn down a good place to write, so...I'll be one of your friendly, neighborhood Nazgul...eventually an orc or two...maybe an Uruk-hai...whatever Evil forces you need...I'm your girl. :-) This character won't be talking much, so it will be a bit of a challenge...having to describe everything in great detail so you can hear the screams of pain and suffering without my having to type "IEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!" all the time....

Haer - September 29, 2005 01:20 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone, I've finally joined. I still am not sure if I'll get the guts to roleplay or write poetry, but I will probably post drawings if I get any done in the theme.

Never know, I may actualy get involved though...

Eldirn - September 29, 2005 02:51 PM (GMT)
Welcome Kryssie Angmar and Haer! Good to see both of you! :D

And Haer, I will talk to Glor about setting up a special forum for artwork. ;)

Glorfindel - September 29, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
Nice to see you here Haer! Yes please post your pictures! In fact, if you would like to illustrate any of the roleplay threads we have here I would be forever grateful! LOL, I love your signature hahahah!

And Krissie! Its good to see you also. From your biography I note you write very well. You will be an asset to the dark forces on this board and maybe help other dark forces spring up to counter all the elves we have here. :D

Welcome!

Erestor - September 29, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Welcome aboard both of you. Great all we need another Nosedrool.

hehehe

Celulind - September 30, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)

Haer - September 30, 2005 11:32 AM (GMT)
Thanks guys.

I figured I should have a focus to my art, and you guys seemed like a good direction to focus my artistic energy to (you know... when I'm drawing instead of studying chemistry like I should be...).

on to the art!

Percirion - October 1, 2005 06:02 AM (GMT)
Hello!

I have arrived here after much self-debate and wondering to pick flowers.
