Title: Roleplaying Rules
Description: Just obey them, dammit.

1. Please no spam or chatty posts. Chatty posts are posts that add nothing to the RP. Really short posts may also be counted as spam. Its not that short posts are bad, they just don't further the story very well. And please don't use the RPs as a chat/random thread.

2. Gods are not allowed, unless the RP revolves around gods or requires at least one godlike character, in which case the creator of the RP must give an explanation. Mary-sue/Gary-stu's really suck too. You know, characters who are super-powerful, super-smart, wanted by everyone, and solve every problem in the world. Powerful characters are okay, but not all-powerful.

3. At least TRY to stay with the plot. If you make a post that has nothing to do with the current plot, it will be deleted. Also, try to keep things in the bounds of reality for that world. For example: If its a fantasy/medieval world, your character can't suddenly draw an uzi or flamethrower. That goes against the plot and bounds of reality.

4. Correct spelling and grammar if possible. These can really make or break an RP. I don't care if you honestly can't spell something, but at least try. I quit RPing in several RPs on the old forum because of so many people with incomprehensible posts. Good spelling and grammar can greatly increase the quality of an RP.

5. No controlling other peoples' characters without permission. I don't care if you use my characters, for future reference. Some people get really pissed off if you use their characters though. Once you have permission, please try to keep their person in-character. If their character is a kind and gentle person he wouldn't just suddenly up and murder someone for the fun of it.

6. Perhaps this should have been number 1, but PLEASE have a plot!!! This was the one that was violated the most on the other forum. I seem to remember an RP that was everyone-make-your-own plot or something. NO. Please have a plot when you start your RP. If you're not too good with making up plots (like me) post the general idea, description of the RP, world, races, and time period. A good plot will usually come once the RP has started. Usually from Phoenix.

7. If you want to discuss ideas for an RP, you can use the chat/random thread located in the Spam forum. Please don't post a topic here and ask for ideas.

8. Unless you're particularly fond of a character *coughWyattcough*, try to use a different character in each RP. If you don't want to use a different character, try to make their personality a little different. I don't care TOO much about this one being violated, since I myself have a character I love way too much, but at least alter your character for the world they're in if you're recycling.

9. Use the following template to create characters. You can add whatever you want, depending on your RP, but these are required.

Character Name: I'm pretty sure you can guess what this is. It can be a nickname or real name, I don't care.
Gender: I am so NOT explaining this one...
Race: Required in any fantasy/sci-fi RP.
Age: Character's age. If you don't know yet, or haven't decided, put "unknown". If your character is immortal or long-lived put their true age and how old they look.
Physical Description: You know, hair, eyes, body, etc.
Personality: What defines the character's actions. Mean, nice, ruthless, solitary, etc.

10. Try and wait until everyone who has joined the RP to reply before you reply. This is just being nice. It gives everyone a chance to get caught up with the story and get their characters more involved. I will warn anyone who does not do this. If they keep doing this, I will delete their posts because they will be spam. Also, if you don't plan on returning to an RP or are going to be away for awhile, please say so. This saves people the trouble of waiting for you to reply. If you do leave, or are going to be away, it would be nice to allow others to control your character(s), as well.

11. Please follow the RP creator's rules for their world. Someone who creates an RP knows more about their world than anyone else. If they say a creature or ability, etc. can't possibly exist, it can't. If you have questions, ask them.

I hope everyone will follow those. RPs will be much better if they do. If you have any questions about the rules, just ask.
Oh, and anyone who makes an RP can add any rule they want to theirs, as long as they follow the above ones.
