Sadly, due to lack of time on the owners' parts, and lack of staff, we felt it best that Patterns should close. A great big THANK YOU goes out to all the staff who have come and gone these past two years and two months. Well done for all your hard work - it's also amazing just to think how much we have all improved! Patterns in the Sand opened not only to become a great studio, providing stunning work for all, but also, Patterns was here to provide a laid back atmosphere where staff and non-staff alike could relax and improve their skills, wherever their talent lay. We think our aims have been accomplished ten times over! We are so proud of you all. To all the customers, members and lurkers, we love you just as much, and Patterns would not have been the same without any of you. We really wish you all good luck in the future, wherever you're headed, and we will miss every single one of you.
It's been a habit of mine to come on the computer and head straight to Patterns, whether I have homework to do or not. It will be wierd not doing that anymore! I may have been a little lazy as an owner at times, and maybe a little too lenient, but who wants a strict studio anyway? But my apologies for being a little slow to get things done sometimes XD I've met some great people here, people who I can really call my friends. I feel like I've learnt so much, personalizing and HTML-wise, as well as about myself and how to handle different situations, and gained different perspectives on things in life. Maybe not the big things, but the little things, but little things count just as much as the bigs things in life, don't you think? XD I feel really privaleged to hear that Patterns has really meant something to others too, and I'll miss you and love you all. I really hope that some of you keep in touch, with me and with each other!

Thinking back to the first Patterns opening, it seems so long ago, time has flown so fast! Many friends have come and gone. I haven't been as active as I would have liked to be since last spring, but still had that habit of opening firefox and going straight to Patterns, just to look and all the lovely work. It's nice to watch personalizers get better and better, drawers producing stunning work, all the writers are so professional, the html'ers can do anything and the image finders are so efficient! We have always had a brillant team at patterns and the customers and staff have been so lovely, as well as alerting others of pictures that have been stolen, thank you everyone for creating such a friendly atmosphere around patterns, I'm so proud to have helped in owning such a site!
I have learnt a lot too, thanks to staff here and madame Duckie, especially, to whom I owe the pleasure of my being here. I wouldn't be personalizing if it wasn't for her and I'm even considering a career in graphic design ^_^
I'm gonna miss this place, although my attendance recently has been abysmal, it's gonna feel weird not having it there.
Well done everyone for working so hard over the last 2 and a bit years! I'm really sorry we have to close, I will miss you all!!! <3<3
3 cheers for all Patterns in the Sand and to Duckie!! who put in so much effort and brilliance into the whole of patterns!!

PS. If you're British you'll know what the above picture is XD If you're not British, it's based on a Test Card/Test Pattern for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). Thought we'd go out with some (British) dignity XD
Here are also a few gifts that people have made for us... Thanks! [hugglesquishes]
