Title: sps under pc's

The other night while I was at johns taking pics, I ended up taking home some sps. It was just sitting in his frag tank and he didn't want it, so I'm in the middle of an experiment right now. I'm in the middle of day 3 with two acros and somethin I haven't got the slightest idea what it is. One acro seems to be kickin the buket rather quickly, but the other one always has all it's polyps out and seems to be doing fine (for the time being). I've been dosing the tank with phyto (phycopure) and cyclop-eeze every night with added decaped-brine eggs once every 3 days. I know the LPS love the extra food because they have been growing exponentially since the increese of phyto has started. Hopefully the sps agree on that and the lights. I'll keep everyone posted on how well they do!

well I don't know what the original color was, but on the largest acro, I'm starting to see some purple (I think). But then again, it also seems to be bleaching out more on the highest point. It's polyps arn't coming out as far as they were at first either, but they do still extend. Any advice?

Interesting study. I sent a piece of monti cap home with one of the guys who work here to see how it would do under his PCs. We tried a frag at the store under PCs and it didn't work out. Pretty sure it was either the fact that it was a whopping 9 watts of PC, or that there was no heater. Caulerpa & mantis likes the tank though.

Richard do you have any pics of the sps that you said had turned green?

well I just went and took some pics, and none of them did it justice. It looked brown when I had the daylights on, and it looked blue with the actinics on. I'll try again later tonight when I have some time to play with it.
