I have a green milli that I've had for a month or so now. I'm seeing some odd behavior which makes me wonder if I have not placed it in the best place in my tank. It's a place with some great current as I was told millipora like a lot of flow. What I'm noticing is that the part of the branches that are more shaded are a lot more "hairy", while the parts exposed to the brightest light are quite a bit less shaggy. It doesn't seem to be bleaching or anything, and has grown a bit since I got it, but I'm now wondering if maybe I have it in too bright an area. How much light do millipora need to be happy? Are they really one of the lower light SPS, or is it just still too soon to be fully acclimated, it's only been about a month so far?
Sounds Strange to me I have never had great luck with millies but Lori And Donny do and we both have the same lights. Donny's water is pristine clean and mine well, isnt?
I think lower in the tank might help.
All 7 of mine are on the top portion of the rock work. As for the branches that have more PE,maybe there reaching for the light? Also make sure its not direct current they are getting.
It's odd that that should happen, it should be hairy regardless of light levels (within reason). We have one that has probably tippled in size under our PC's, and, until just recently, was ALWAYS hairy.
