I guess I'm still getting used to SPS, as today I was doing a little tank maintenance and broke two branches off my "unknown, possibly Staghorn" SPS colony. After so many years of LPS and softies, it's hard to get used to how fragile these little guys are. I barely brushed up against it and broke two of the upper branches off. Luckily I found them and mounted them, up, so hopefully they survive and grow. But this is not the way I usually do fragging, but I just don't see how you can do much in your tank with SPS colonies, or it is just something you have to learn to live with?
