Hey, I just read in the COMAS forum that Ultimate Reefs may be going out of business.

Anyone here heard anything to support that?

I really hope it's not true.

I was there this morning and they are loading up the whole store. They are closing for good. He is offering discounts on everything 20% and up. He is still going to maintenance. But he is closing the store front.

That's too bad, and I'm sorry to see them go. I had been wondering for some time now how many stores an area the size of Tulsa could support long term. Aquariums as a hobby are pretty cyclic, and popularity goes up and down, and what I've been hearing is we are heading into a downturn swing again.

This also brings out how we as a club need to see what we can do to both attract people to the hobby, as well as find ways to support our local stores in ways that are win/win with the membership and the LFS as well.

I am very sorry to see Shane close the storefront. I know that he is excited about regaining life outside of a 24/7 stress fest.

The store is still open, with what's left of the stock...probably through Saturday... with everything 50% off except the tanks. And just FYI, be watching the website-- we're hoping to have an online store going before too much longer...
