Title: Ten gallon refugium thread updated
Description: ten gallon fuge

jokeloma - December 1, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
I just added a ten gallon remote refugium to my sump setup that sits in the garage behind my display. The tank is drilled and feeds back to the sump via gravity. I wanted someplace to grow pods and caulpera. My plan is to run the lights 24/7 in hopes that it won't go sexual.

Well three weeks plus have passed and the pics don't really do it justice. This macro grows fast. I also added a mushroom rock about the same time with a small piece of sea grass on it in hopes that it would grow. The seagrass has tripled in size.

And here is a side view you can see the seagrass on the lower left side.

The pod population has also increased, pods now cover the glass all the time.

I also have Chaeto in the sump area and it doesn't grow much either. At one point I had several big mexican turbo's die and it really took off for about a month.

Feed more and the macro will take off.Your system might be lacking nutrients which is a good thing.

You forget Jarrod that I am the anti-feeder, My wife sneaks around behind my back and feeds my tank.
