Hello to all... this is Jessica, Jacob McHenry's sister, as you all know we are still new to this whole salt water tank hobby. As of two weeks ago, our tank was doing great. Then, all of a sudden, we seem to have a major problem going on with our tank. Our copper banded butterfly, we think may have had ick (whatever that it is). He started swimming all crazy like (swimming upside down, not turning back over, bumping into everything...) so we quarantined him and he died later in the night. Now our coral beauty is covered is white spots and losing all of her color. The clown fish, ferry wrasse, and orange diamond goby are all doing the same thing. Someone told Jake to use garlic, and someone else mentioned using metronidazole. Neither one of these seems to be helping. However, we are not giving up, although it seems we are going to lose all of these fish. Oh well, we will try again. If you have any ideas about how to avoid this problem in the future, please let us know. Thanks a million!

Could you tell us your water parameters. How often are you doing water changes?
What all do you have in your tank?Do you have any cleaner shrimp? How long has your system been running? How often do you feed and what type of skimmer do you have? Please tell us everything about your tank even if it seems unimportant to you.I hope myself or someone will be able to help you.

Did you check for stray electricity. You may have power head or heater leaking electricity into the water.
