With all of the nasty weather we've been having and now seeing the havoc it has wreaked with Richard's nano, I've been contemplating possible solutions. The obvious, of course, is to just get a commercial temperature controller. I'll likely go ahead and invest in one of these for each of our systems. However, I'm just wondering about the potential of using an UPS as a power filter and short-term power backup system. I have a 5500 watt generator for severe power outages, but it would be nice to be able to keep critical systems running for at least a few minutes. In our case, I think the UPS would have likely filtered out the power fluctuation that caused the heater to lose it's mind.
Has anyone every played around with an UPS on your systems?
