Title: What do Michiganders think about Bigfoot
Description: What is their reaction to it's mention?

I don't know about you, but the closer you get to Detroit, the more 'yeah ha ha whatever' reactions I get.
However the further north you go, I get a much more decent response, I have even had people recount sightings from the past 30 years when I have mentioned bigfoot in passing.
What is your experience?

About the same. City people, especially those who never get out of the city (who think, when they get to the Jesus sign at the Dixie Baptist Church on I-75 in Clarkston, that they're "up north" ) can't quite accept the idea that it might be for real. The further north you get, the closer to the really wild country, the more open people are to it.
I have had a hunter relate a couple of odd occurances to me which happened when he was really up north hunting, and Paul has had customers relate actual sightings as well as word-of-mouth reports to him, which happened up north as well, while he's been working in Grand Rapids.

Drew, I've only been to Detroit a half dozen(or so) times in my entire life! Last time was when Stacys husband made a "slight navigational error" on the way to the Ohio bigfoot conference last spring:lol: So..my experience with that area is very limited.
As Stacy mentioned, I've had several people relate incidents to me at work, both co-workers AND customers. A couple of the customer ones were among the most interesting I've heard, given the nearness to one of the areas we are researching.
Most of the people I talk to(most of whome are in the hunting "community"), are suprisingly open to the idea..and far from blowing the idea off, a couple really are begging me to take them out this summer! So...MY experience has been suprisingly positive.

As for me I've known something was out there ever since the 80's when I saw a news segment on TV I think it was the Patterson film they did a story on then they talked about Michigan sightings... Even though my family and friends think I'm nuts because I think something is out there I'm still into it...

"Are you on the right road?" I thought I was, unless my momma moved. :)
The few people I've mentioned (in passing) my interest in BF to up north have seemed open to the idea. Of the few I've mentioned it to near where I live, about half seem open to the idea and the other half don't seem to care. To all Michiganders' credit, I have yet to be ridiculed for my interest, but I'm sure that will come sooner or later.
