Was up in the UP this past August. I saw a vacation house coming back
from Whitefish Point that had a Bigfoot-shaped wooden silhouette,
painted black, holding a fresh-cut limb of switch size. Was by the mailbox. My father-in-law had just tried to tell me about the many Sasquatch myths of the area - major friends-making on his part, as I'm sure he thinks I'm weird with my somewhat lowkey sasquatch obsession.
This was on either M123 or Whitefish Point Road. Going South, it was on the right hand side.
Know anything? No one was home for an interview.

Interesting Martin. There are a few statues around, one of our members found one while working last winter in the north eastern lower peninsula, which we visited again this summer.
It does make you wonder!

I naively thought that one of the members here may own that house. Anyone that has driven that route would know how the houses' drives are decorated, with little signs at the driveway entrances like so many of the coastal communities down here in NC/SC. It was really weird how we passed the place just after talking about snowmobiler's experiences in that part of MI just past the bridge. Despite the higher population along there, I was struck by the amount of wilderness cut only by ATV and snowmobile trails, with hikers etc. kept down by the bugs most of the year.
I'll be going back to visit those inlaws a bit over the next few years I'm sure. I'm going to have to try harder to collect info.
