Title: =][= Inquisitor Campaign ideas =][=
Description: A discussion of campaign ideas
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 09:59 AM (GMT)
I would like to know any ideas on Inquisitor campaignes.
chiz65 - June 14, 2004 10:05 AM (GMT)
Are you just too cheap to get them yourself?
But yeah. Regardless of the mision, more players=better.
--------------------
-Chiz65=better.
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 10:08 AM (GMT)
Just looking for others opinions
I was thinkin about a very long one that would encompass the charcters completely so i would need different worlds, objectives etc.
It would start with the inquisitors meeting and working out each others standing whilst looking for a common goal then they would go their own ways.

Are you the GM for your games???
You need to base most of your stuff loosely around 40k..use it to form reference points for your campaigns to grow.

inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 10:21 AM (GMT)
Dream on chiz....
I'm a nice guy and so are a few others on this forum....who's a newbie gonna listen to?
someone taking the piss or someone giving out friendly help?
chiz65 - June 14, 2004 10:24 AM (GMT)
I cna give friendly help. Just not in a nice manner. But anyway.
As i see it there's a few basic mission types-
Fetching something/someone
Protecting summat
Killing Summat
recon
preventing someone else doing summat.
--------------------
-Chiz65. Make of that what you will.
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 10:31 AM (GMT)
cheers...i think
bit vague though
Assassin Wolf - June 14, 2004 10:31 AM (GMT)
Ok you 2 clowns..give it up....WE ALL KNOW THAT NASTY PEOPLE GET WHAT IS COMMING & THAT NICE PEOPLE ALWAYS PREVAIL!!!!
Now could we please get on topic
Assassin Wolf - June 14, 2004 10:33 AM (GMT)
Ghost,
you need to have a start point from which to work....where is it ,what do you want to happen initally??
Everything else will grow from there.
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 10:33 AM (GMT)

Do you want all palyers to start at the same point in time or have others join in as the game progresses?
You could all start as just your inquisitor on terra, being given orders to carry out your part in the inquisition(by your GM)..the progress to introduce your warband and set about your give task.
But inquisitors ,like all people. will develop greed and so the sub plot will develop,as players set out to acheive their own goals ,and so the battle will insue..........only the strong of heart will survive.
Thats the sort of thing you could start with

any time ghost.....if you need more just ask :D
chiz65 - June 14, 2004 10:56 AM (GMT)
The best would be giving characters a choice of plotlines. Like for an assassin, at the start he has to recon a building with a NPC in it. Now, from there he can choose to hunt the guy down or protect him. That could work for loads a stuff.
--------------------
-Chiz65, always looking for something.

Secret objectives are good too, but they have to be other than kill someone.
--------------------
-Chiz65. Everyone has a secret.
Assassin Wolf - June 14, 2004 11:10 AM (GMT)
some games you may not even engage then enemy other that passing fire..it is quite possible to completlyavoid the other characters on a large board.
chiz65 - June 14, 2004 11:22 AM (GMT)
And lets not forget the vehicle rules- who can resist a chase through scenery?
you could do something like they did for a LOTR scenario- move the terrain a bit to show speed.
--------------------
-Chiz65, who can see poeple mocking this.
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 11:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah...each of them has their own objective in the sasme place...maybe afterwards they find out and slog it out??
Assassin Wolf - June 14, 2004 11:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah thatbwould be good...but leave vehicles out of it..they just slow things down...

Was that a pun?
I'd love to use vehicles, get the rules for them as they're not too complicated.
--------------------
-Chiz65. Ramming Speed!!
inquisitor ghost - June 14, 2004 11:29 AM (GMT)
The vehicle rules are ok.
But not used with a warband.

It depends on the game. In the massive end of camapign games you want landraiders lying around the place. B)

Not a landraider, but yes, they should be in end-of stroy games by preference.

Things are blowing up, he must be...

i'll probably get slammed by the purists for this.. but i rather like the (admitedly non Narrative) Children of the Night campaign for Vampire Wars (it used to be online somewhere in adobe format, but i've been googling it all week and havent found it)
each player makes a warband of 300 points (in CotN it was a Defender of Mankind force) and then the game is played in campaign turns (CotN: each turn being a month, the first turn being January 1870) each turn each player rolls to see if he has an encounter (the region he is in determines what the encounter is with: Werewolves, Vampires, Slaaneshi Cultists, Stealer Broods, Slaaneshi-Stealer Cults...) the encounter is then played out with the DoM/=][= player using his warband, and another player controlling the enemy.. if he Dom/=][= player wins he gets a number of Clue points, once a player has acquired 50 clue points he learns who the Big Bad masterminding all the bad goings on is, and can attack him.
The first player to slay the Big Bad is the winner of the campaign.
er.. hope that all made sense..
*too much coffee makes me illiterate*
