Title: 5 more C'tan on the way

Spartan-118 - March 23, 2005 03:15 AM (GMT)
In the codex it says there are seven C'tan still in existance, two awaken and 5 dormant. Do you think GW will bring out the 5 more c'tan if so whats the news?

(if this goes off topic ill kill who ever does it)

Oblivious - March 23, 2005 06:30 AM (GMT)
umm what are c'tans and all that? can someone fill me in so i don't feel left out

Spartan-118 - March 23, 2005 06:54 AM (GMT)
C'tan are the necron gods. Example: the Nightbringer and the Deceiver

Oblivious - March 23, 2005 07:03 AM (GMT)
ok ill stay out of this topic then i don't know anything about it

salty - March 24, 2005 07:12 PM (GMT)
I doubt GW wil bring them all out:

a) last time all of the Ctan were out they almost annihilated the galaxy

B) one of them is in the centre of Mars

Salty :)

dark angel 17 - March 25, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
Which is the Dragon. But I don't think they'll bring any more out for a while.

emperors champion akeris - March 26, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
No that would destroy the universe as terra is so important to the imperium that should it fall the universe would likely fall to the gods of chaos.
I also thinks that if chaos were to capture terra they would probably unlock the c'tan and taint it with chaos to use as a weapon against the tau or the eldar.

Spartan-118 - March 26, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
The chaos gods are pitifull compared to the C'tan. C'tan can destroy galaxey's at once, where a chaos god can't even blow up a planet.
If you read the codex, the c'tan were the begining of life,in a way the chaos gods were created from the C'tan. The C'tan are unstopable

Darmort - March 26, 2005 04:17 PM (GMT)
The C'tan are actually Stars, and there's only 4, not 7, Games Workshop said that somewhere.
Did you know that the Machine God is actually the C'tan on Mars? Bet you didn't.
The C'tan have the capablity to suck the life out of Stars and planets, but when they met the Necrontyr, they basically turned them from living flesh to living Metal, making Necrons.
They fought the great wars against the Old Ones, who were the ones who first created the universe, as it happens. (Silas knows the answer to this....)
The Old Ones apparently also made Torks, which evolved into Orks, I believe they also created humankind on Terra.
Games Workshop won't bring out the Machine God or the other one (The Laughing God, if I remember rightly). But there's only 4 C'tan left, after the Deciever made the Nightbringer have a war with the others, heh, that'll learn them.

Yet in Fluff, the Necrons are very powerful, but in game terms, they're rubbish at long range.

salty - March 26, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Yep, I knew about the machine god being a Ctan. And, for the record, Laughing God is Eldar I think.

The Old Ones watched Man beginning to evolve and decided to leave us to our own devices rather than interevene like they did with the Eldar, Orks, Slaan etc.

Laughing God made one of the Ctan go mad and eat most of the others.

Salty :)

dark angel 17 - March 26, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
Yes Spartan is right. The Chaos Gods are pitiful compared to the C'tan. But however, none of the C'tan are at full power, the reason being that they were in stasis for such a long time. The Eldar, Orks, and Humans were all created by the Old Ones, as said earlier but they were supposed to work together to bring about the destruction of the C'tan. The C'tan intervened the development process and thus the three races evolved into what we have today.

Spartan-118 - March 28, 2005 07:14 AM (GMT)
Yes true dark angel they are not at full power. The reason being is because they are still barley awake, They need to feast on some stars before they are back to full power, also the old ones where nearly extinct after there last attack on the nigtbringer. Im pretty sure it says in the codex that the old ones did not create the races to be an ally but to be there slaves. hmm i think it was orks to be there fighters against the necrotyr, eldar the builders and mankind the resource collector. But they became wise and evolved. :)

And the reason they were turned into the necrons is because the average age a necrotyr to die was something like 30, so when the c'tan camealong they asked to be immortal, thus why the necrons can not die!

Rubbish in long rang...how do you think that. there average troop can shoot 24" and there average heavy supoort can shoot form 36" to 48" and the necron pylon can shoot up to 120"

emperors champion akeris - March 28, 2005 09:40 AM (GMT)
David i think hes reffering to things that we can afford. Its like arguing that imperial guard with trooper range of 12 are good at shooting because they can have a titan.

In game terms the crons are good as they have the annoying ability to glance tanks so easily, as well as str 6 weapons on the move hence the destroyers.

I beleive that the eldar were technology, humans were recources and orks were manpower but the shit really hit the fan didnt it.

Spartan-118 - March 28, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
honestly, stop saying my name!

Spartan-118 - March 28, 2005 12:27 PM (GMT)
And akeris the necron pylon is only $110. Im pretty sure you could afford that!

salty - March 28, 2005 02:16 PM (GMT)
I thoughtthe Old Ones decided NOT to intervene with humans because they were developing well enough by themselves? And IIRC (which I probably don't), Orks were originally Torks, the soldiers of the Old Ones, but evolved into Orks after the Old One's were defeated (I say defeated in the loosest sense of the word).

Salty :)

emperors champion akeris - March 29, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Settle down SPARTIAN its not like its gonna kill you.

The pylon is 110 pounds, and its huge, i would buy 1 if they were $110 but sadly its over 300.

Spartan-118 - March 29, 2005 09:55 AM (GMT)
No sorry its 80 pounds i already did the math!

Erokose - April 1, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Well eldar have great technology but they are a dieing race. Orks are going backwards in technology but are strong figthers and the Human race is just booming in size and manpower. So the slaves are now pretty much the rulers. As for the Ctan I think you guys are right about the laughing god being eldar cause I remember seeing something about the Eldar god being refered to as the laughing god. And the Bloody hand. (Avartar of the bloody hand)

The Confessor - April 2, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
I think its the Nightbringer, The Deceiver, The Dragon ( Machine God) and The Outsider.

I read that there were more than 4 but the deceiver tricked (deceived) the nightbringer into killing the others.

salty - April 2, 2005 07:06 PM (GMT)
I heard that the laughing god tricked Nightbringer into devouring them by posing as Deciever.

Salty :)

Erokose - April 3, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
Well if anyone has any new information just post it cause I can't find anything online.

salty - April 6, 2005 08:05 AM (GMT)
Right, thanks to several people on Portent, I can say this:

The Old Ones created the Krork, who are ancestors of the Orks.

The C'tan are known to the Eldar as Yngir, and are the 'bad' Eldar Gods.

Deciever and the Laughing God are rumoured to be one and the same, but the Laughing God is the God of the Harlequins. Either they are the same entity, or Deciever masquerades as Laughing God successfully from time to time.

If the two are separate (which I do at any rate), then Deciever tempted Nightbringer into eating other C'tan, and the Laughing God tricked Outsider into eating other C'tan.

In the end, the C'tan all start devouring their brothers.
