Title: The planets surrounding Terra

Spartan-118 - March 13, 2005 11:11 AM (GMT)
is it true that surrounding holy terra are moons that have been turned into giant weapons and that each planet has around 10 000 ships defending it. Also on terra is there 3 battle groups of titanS?

Darmort - March 13, 2005 12:19 PM (GMT)
Moons turned into Giant guns; true

10,000 ships a solar system/planet; true

Legions of titans on Terra; true, although I think there's more than 3 battle groups.

emperors champion akeris - March 14, 2005 10:13 AM (GMT)
Yes although you know games workshop and their ever changing ways. The titan battle groups are just a few warhounds, a few hundred tanks and a s*** load of weird little things.

I beleive that there is 10,000 ships defending terra, not 10,000 ships on each little planet.

I think that the emperor is actually quite twisted. The human race (Thanks to the emperor) believe that all aliens have to die and that any pagans (Non chaos) have to be killed. Why would you want to destroy the whole universe when you could ally with these races and destroy chaos and stuff.

emperors champion akeris - March 16, 2005 10:23 AM (GMT)
Well in order to survive 100% loyalty and obedience is needed. All those not willing are considered heretical when in fact 99% of the time they are a coult of chaos, and deserve the painful death that they get.

The Emperor didn't actually say "Kill all aliens", his Holy message was twisted after his internment on the Golden Throne.

The main focus of old Emp was uniting mankind and destroying Chaos. Unfortunately, this often meant war with aliens.

And it is 10,000 ships defending Terra, although I believe Mars and Titan have their own battlefleets for defence purposes.

Salty :)

Well the Emperor didn't say kill all aliens exactly but his dream was to unite mankind, as you said but he accomplished that when we wasn't interned on the Throne. He wanted to have mankind conquer the universe along with uniting mankind, thus we had the Great Crusade. If the Imperium lets the Tau, Eldar, Orks, etc. reclaim parts of the galaxy, they would be letting down their Holy Emperor. So they wage war against these alien races.

And there have been some cases of Eldar and humans allying against their common enemies, eg. the Orks and Chaos. And yes salty is right Mars and Titan have their own fleets. The Adeptus Mechanicus has their own fleet for defence purposes, as shown when they hunted down and destroyed 3 Necron ships who tried to land on Mars, one of which were successful. And Titan is the home base of the Grey Knights, which have fleets to transport the Grey Knights so they can combat Chaos throughout the Imperium.

I hope this helps.

Something I don't understand is why didn't the emperor listen to Eldrad Ulthrin the greatest seer of all time? Eldrad warned the emperor of Horus's betrayal but the emperor wouldn't listen and Eldrad gave him other warnings but was attacked for trying to help. (Thats why all eldar now want the humans to perish)

emperors champion akeris - March 17, 2005 10:26 AM (GMT)
The eldar arent trusted by the imperium because they have slaughtered them on countless crusades to become allies and the fact that the eldar are too stubborn to get help.
Why would the emperor beleive an alien anyway?

Erokose - March 17, 2005 11:56 AM (GMT)
Because that alien was right and if the emperor listened Horus would of been destroyed before his treachry caused damage.

dark angel 17 - March 18, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
Well the human race and Eldar are both too stubborn and proud to listen and take advice from each other. That's the main reason, as Akeris said, why they won't become allies.

Spartan-118 - March 22, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
ok this has gone totally off topic thanks to erokose..who the hell asked about the Emperor, this should be closed.

salty - March 22, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
It has gone off topic but its still an interesting discussion.

The Emperor didn't listen to Magnus the Red either, and he was his own 'son'.

Maybe he simply couldn't imagine his favourite, most trusted son turning on him.

And I think there are eight planets and Terra... just to keep it slightly more on topic :D

He probably didn't listen to magnus the red because he was a cyclops

Look what their own fooleshness has done to them, because of their stubborn ways, has lead them to a neverending battle. The emperor should have listened to Eldrad but because of his ways chose the fate of man. I bet he wished he had paid attention these days.
