Title: 42nd Millenium
Description: When is it going to be warhammer 41k
Spartan-118 - December 5, 2004 08:27 AM (GMT)
Hey guys i was just wondering what is the current date in 40k and when is it going to be the 42nd millenium!
dark angel 17 - December 13, 2004 11:50 PM (GMT)
There is no current date in 40k. Everything is spread out, as are the events. But for most recent, there have been events that are 1 year from the beginning of the new millenium. I hope that helps a bit.

i still reckon they should bring out a few more armies, lyk sum poverty stricken race that rose up and became one of the biggest threats of the universe. or an army devoted to the anniahlation of tyranids or necrons, maybe a cross between two armies would be good  just some ideas
Erokose - January 7, 2005 07:22 AM (GMT)
They should bring out an army of heretics. Not chaos but others. Like a powerful cult that doesn't believe in the emperor or anything like that. That rose up to form a huge massvie army and they collects millions from all the other planets :ph43r:
What do you people think a new army should be?
Plaguebearer - January 11, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
I like the idea of a poverty stricken army that literally takes over most planets, lol. I would like an army in 40K abit like Skaven in WF as some of their units aint that bad. They wander around Imperial Castles doing no-good. I also think that they should add more units to armies such as Necrons and Sisters of Battle as they have hardly much chooseable units compared to Imperial.
emperors champion akeris - January 12, 2005 11:52 AM (GMT)
Hmm lets see hereitcs they call them traitor guard and feral poverty striken people theyre what 40k likes to call catachans/mutants.
I Think making a new race would crowd the universe to much. Although if something is to happen i should think it would nvolve the Tau as all theyre doing is growing so fast its going to consume everything. Either that or a threat to the tyranids.
Oblivious - January 13, 2005 08:30 AM (GMT)
i rekon they should make like a side army, like kroot, they are working wit tau, they should make one like that except they work for wateva race wants them.
Plaguebearer - January 13, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
Nice idea Oblivious. I sometimes think that they are biased to a couple of armies i 40K as they have much more units!!!!!! Think of the Sisters Of Battle, look at how poxy there army selection is.
Oblivious - January 13, 2005 10:46 PM (GMT)
yeah thats true they are very biased with some armies, they need to be biased with every army, but i suspose they are just trying to make it seem realistic
Darmort - January 22, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
What? All Armies can beat all Armies, it depends on the tactics. And here's an Army Convertion Table from Fantasy to 40K
Empire/Brettonians: Space Marines/Imperial Guard/Witch Hunters/Daemon Hunters
Lizardmen: Tau (OK, it's a bit sketchy)
Skaven: Tyranids (hordes)
Orcs: Orks
Dark Elves: Dark Eldar
High Elves/Wood Elves: Eldar
Chaos: Chaos
Vampire Counts/Tomb Kings: Necrons
I know i've missed out a few armies but I can't be bothered to look them up right now.
Oblivious - January 22, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
no, not all armies can beat all armies, that would just be stupid. i mean, even out some of the stistics, if one army has a postive, then they should even it out with giving another army a positive that matches that, but not too much, otherwise like you said darmort, armies can beat all armies,
Erokose - January 24, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
Well its true any army can beat any army.
dark angel 17 - January 24, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
Yep. It doesn't depend on the army, it depends on the person playing the army. Bad tactics can lose a battle many times over.
Oblivious - January 25, 2005 06:49 AM (GMT)
yeah, thats very true. no wonder i lose alot, i have bad tactics  i need help with tactics :D
dark angel 17 - January 26, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
Well then, make a thread and ask the fellow members about tactics for your army. I think this thread is dead as far as on topic wise.
Oblivious - January 26, 2005 08:37 AM (GMT)
yeh i think i might just do that then, yeah true it is a bit dead now
Lone Wolf - February 8, 2005 12:44 AM (GMT)
warhammer 40k has more of a ring to it than warhammer 41k or 42k
I'm on topic :)
Oblivious - February 8, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
yeh thats probably why they called it 'warhammer 40k', but they will probably make another century of warhammer, but that should be ages away
Spartan-118 - February 15, 2005 12:26 PM (GMT)
well in the time line its about to turn into 41k! thats why they brang out dawn of war!
Oblivious - February 16, 2005 01:14 AM (GMT)
well i think that they should bring out a warhammer 80k and just bring them out like that...like i said it will be ages away
but a warhammer 41k sounds cool. Will they bring out new armies or just upgrade stats for the present armies?
salty - February 16, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
Some one wrote some rules for a new army and asked me to put them in the House Rules on my site. Other than that, I think that bringing back the Squats or making a real race from the Hrud or Demiurg would be a great step forwards.
Salty :)
dark angel 17 - February 25, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
Well...it would be cool if they just advance the timeline without having to change the title. If they did change the title, it would pretty much change the entire game.
Oblivious - March 9, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
yeah but they would still probably find some way to jib us over in prices, they probably will only just advance the timeline, give each army one upgrade, and then jack up the prices
emperors champion akeris - March 9, 2005 11:18 AM (GMT)
Making it into a new game gives GW the excuse to up the prices once again and totally change the rules and force us to fork out for a new rulebook and a whole heap of new models.
I doubt they would change it as lone wolf said it has a little more ring to it.
I think that new armies dont exactly fit anymore. There just isnt enough room.
Upgrading armies just complicates things. That means they have to re-educate us, which will end up costing us
I say that this campaign (galactic storm) should end the millenium and whoe ever wins should start the new millenium on a crusade, just to even things up a bit.
ghosty - March 18, 2005 09:47 AM (GMT)
i heard they are making a new ork codex yeah
Oblivious - March 19, 2005 12:24 AM (GMT)
but why are they just making an ork codex, and no other codexes. there are other armies out there, for example. ill use my nids codex, it has nothing in it, it has the stats and then a few rules, painting tips and thats it,
other codexes have tactics in it and so on
dark angel 17 - March 20, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
There's also rumors of new SM chapter codexes but I doubt that will be anytime soon.
Oblivious - March 21, 2005 06:17 AM (GMT)
they should bring out new codexes for every army soon,
Erokose - March 21, 2005 09:42 AM (GMT)
They were spose to being codex's out ages ago. It just hasn't happened yet.
Oblivious - March 22, 2005 06:04 AM (GMT)
well when...if they brin out new codexes, i hope they put more stuff in them, i.e. tactics more stats etc
Erokose - March 22, 2005 06:18 AM (GMT)
I don't think they will have tatics but they should have heaps of cool stuff.
Oblivious - March 22, 2005 07:07 AM (GMT)
well thats crap. the necron codex has tactics, army formations etc. but the nids codex doesnt have anything.
they should put tactics in every one
Erokose - March 22, 2005 08:35 AM (GMT)
Eldar codex doesn't have tatics either.
Oblivious - March 22, 2005 10:49 AM (GMT)
well i don't know about any other codexs, but i know that necrons have tactics and battle formations in them
salty - March 22, 2005 02:48 PM (GMT)
I posted this same thread on And Chambers' new site, and I got some decent replies, from him and people there;
It would appear that GW is going to have campaigns and such in other regions of the galaxy; for example, the Eye of Terra and Third War for Armageddon were both supposed to have occured very close to each other, if not at the same time.
The main consensus there appears to be that wars are occuring at the same time across the length and breadth of the galaxy, so thats where they'll go next.
