Title: Shadowblade against the Deathmaster
Description: A battle between the two best assasssins

Morkskittar - November 14, 2004 07:53 PM (GMT)
:ph43r: I have just fought a duel between Shadowblade and Deathmaster Snikch. I had thought that the Deathmaster would win, and I was right. The Deathmaster id better. Out of the three times I battles, Shadowblade won one and Deathmaster - two.

BATTLE ONE

The two opponents, in a dark alley, faced off 36 inches away from each other. The Deathmaster moved first, traveling a wee little 7". The Dark Elf responded, moving 6" forward. They eyed each other, then repeated this process, except that Shadowblade drinks his potion.t then, the Deathmaster suddenly leapt upon Shadowblade and slashed wildly with his blades. Shadowblade calmly parried all of his attacks except for one. This blow would have sliced the head off of Shadowblade, but he danced out of the way, saved by his Ward Save. As the Deathmaster dropped to the ground, Shadowblade walked up and calmly sliced off the Deathmaster's head.

BATTLE TWO

The two combatants faced off, again at 36" The Deathmaster went first, and movbed forward 14". Shadowblade, unwisely, moved forward twelve. At the start of the Deathmaster's turn, he drank the potion. Once again, the Deathmaster charged. 5 slashes he made. Shadowblade only parried two of them. Two of those narrowly missed. The third slice, though, cut open Shadowblade's stomach, and it gushed over Snikch, who grinned an evil little grin. Ha-ha, elf-thing. Not-not quik enough, this time. Yes-yes!

BATTLE THREE

The two assassins started 36" away from each other in the third round. This time, the Dark Elf moved first. 12". the Deathmaster, not thinking, moved forward 14". Shadowblade charged, yelling one of the names of Khaine. Snikch laughed. He was not scared of this elf-thing. Malekith's chief assassin landed three blows on Shadowblade, one which would have killed Snikch instantly had he not dodged it. Another attack didn't hurt at all, and the third cut him. The Deathmaster suffered a wound! He responded, enraged. Using his calmness, Shadowblade parried all but one of the attacks, which cut him deeply. He took two wounds, and grimaced as the poison swept through him. Angered he retalites, injuring Snikch (1 Wound). The hyper-active Skaven then proceeds to slice off the Deathmasters head. Snikch then flees. Almost in time. The crystal shatters again, but a shard hits the Deathmaster in the back, and he takes another Wound. But he lives! :ph43r:

Yeh thats what i thought would happen when i compared the stats. Although shadowblade is supposibly the worlds best assasin, his stats dont really indicate his skill. He is good but stuck with elf toughness doesnt help his cause.

LOl im suprised you bothered to testy this, its been awaited for ages and i just joined team slaanesh on druchii.net.

This is one of the 'tests' that people find so interesting like: Would Ar'ulric actually get beaten by Mannfred Von Carestein and can Archaon beat Valten...
Great BR anyway, keep it up!

Any ideas on who should fight next? I will actually be fighting a more balnced duel between them soon. When I do, I will once again post the results on the... um,... eight forums (six GW ones, actually. I won't post it on the others...) that I am a part of.
GW Forums
Miniature Warfare
The Underempire
Despoilers of the North
Druchii.net
Land of Chill
Blue Oyster Cult Bungo Pony Forums
Sherman's Lagoon Forums
Any more cool forums to join?
Anyway, I just posted this to tell you what is coming next.

Hmmm well i played abaddon the despoiler vs. marneus calgar and abaddon won (not suprisingly).

It is hard to find decent characters that are well ballanced to fight. One will lawyas have the edge over its oponent. THe closest i found was typhus vs. salamanders chaplin (which his name has left my mind argh!)

Morkskittar - November 16, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
Do you play 40K? I do Fantasy, so I can really only fight Fantasy characters.

emperors champion akeris - November 16, 2004 10:52 AM (GMT)
Well i have a skirmish size dark elves force but thats it. HMMM fantasy fights, some bretonion character vs. a tomb kings character. Lord croak vs. the most expensive dark elf character.

As i said on d.net before (twice now in fact!). Shadowblade is in fact the better.

Hmmm....wasnt there one of these before. I coulda sworn i done some tests that proved the other way around...

QUOTE ("Silas")

Ok, lets do some tests shall we? Taking into account that Snikch is over 100pts more then Shadowblade I removed the shooting part. Actually it was because i couldnt be bothered with that malarky...
There's no point in Snikch's Bands of Power since he wounds Shadowblade on 2's with or without it, being Str5 and all...

Test 1; Snikch Charges no Potion of Strengh;
He strikes first with 4 attacks. Wait, its 3 attakcs due to Shadowblades Hand of Khaine skill. However Snikch adds 2 attacks due to using 3 Weeping Blades in his tail. 5 attacks hitting on 4's; 2 hits. Wounding on 2's; 2 wounds.
Shadowblade saves on 5+; 1 wound caused. Weeping Blades mean; 2 wounds in total. Shadowblade lives!
Shadowblade attacks; 7 attacks hitting on 3's; causing 5 hits, 2 of which are poisoned. 2 auto wounds. Wounding on 4's adds another 2 to the wounds; 4 for Snikch to save. 4+ save. oooh, he fails 3. Snikch dies.

5 attacks, 2 hits, 2 wounds, 2 saves.
7 attacks, 5 hits, 1 autowound, 2 more wounds, 1 killing blow. Saves killing blow, fails to save the others. Snikch dead.

Test 6; Snikch charges, Potion of Strengh used (take 3 out of 3);
5 attacks, 5 hits, 4 wounds, 1 save, Shadowblade dead.

Test 12; Shadowblade charges,Potion of Strengh used (3 out of 3);
7 attacks, 4 hits, 1 killing blow, 1 more wound, Snikch saves both.
5 attacks, 3 hits, 2 wounds, 1 save, suffers 3 wounds; Shadowblade dies.

Test 13; Strike Simultaneously, no Potion of Strengh;
7 attacks, 5 hits, 1 autowound, 2 more wounds, Snikch saves 2.

5 attacks, 3 hits, 2 wounds, 1 save, Shadowblade suffers 1 wound
7 attacks, 3 hits, 2 autowounds, 1 killing blow, Snikch dies
5 attacks, 2 hits, 1 wound, 1 save. Shadowblade lives!

In total;

Shadowblade wins 10,
Snikch kills 4
They kill each other 4 times.

I'm not saying this is fool proof since alot of luck is envolved here. For instance Snikch never once got a killing blow against Shadowblade, whereas Shadowblade got loads against him. Admitedly because Shadowblade has more attacks that is more likely there is still the chance that Snikch would get it. This is a fairly good start to testing who would win, but for it to be really clear you'd need at least 100 tests, preferably more.

Still, I think Shadowblade wins here...

Darmort - November 16, 2004 04:19 PM (GMT)
Silas is correct, Shadow Blade is much better.

And considering you need about 100 Games to prove that one IS better than the other.

3 Tests just won't work.

but I want to see Malekith kill Morathi, that would be funny. :D

Morkskittar - November 17, 2004 12:05 AM (GMT)
Okay, Darmort. Once I have the time to, I will, and I will post it.
