conman - October 22, 2004 06:30 AM (GMT)
:ph43r: Your views on whether or not Eldar are the supieor race.

I think there prety cool and hey worship cool gods ana all........They have the best fighting skills , don they?!?!?!?!?!?!?without weapons i mean. :ph43r:

Erokose - October 22, 2004 06:38 AM (GMT)
Well the eldar race is based on warriors. They have aspect shrines which attract aspect warriors. The eldar are quite superior but lack the numbers.

Spartan-118 - October 22, 2004 07:08 AM (GMT)
They may lack the numbers in the storyline but you will find they out number nearly all their opponents in the game. ;)

The Confessor - October 22, 2004 08:22 AM (GMT)
The aspects are elite, but so are space marines.

A seven foot acid-spitting rock solid marine would wipe the floor with any space elf in hand to hand.

The marines have natural armor ( The Black Carapace ) that the eldar don't.

Marines also have extra lungs, an extra heart, and a slew of other organs and implants that takes them far beyond whatever the eldar could ever muster.

In the fluff, they sound more like the Tarrasque than a human.

Erokose - October 22, 2004 08:37 AM (GMT)
Are you talking about space marines or termanator space marins

The eldar guardian has the same profile as a space marine........The eldar also live longer. The striking scorpians aspect warriors have many attacks in close combat. They shoot this special ray which has special stuff and then they have a couple of attacks with power swords. I have at least 2 power swords per squad.

The Confessor - October 22, 2004 08:44 AM (GMT)
Eokose man, what the hell are you talking about.

Terminators are just regular space marines, but with terminator honors. They just aren't represented how they are in the fluff for balancement purposes I guess.

Striking scorpions don't shoot lasers! They fire tiny shards of doom out of their mandiblasters. They also only use chainswords, not power weapons ( except for the exarch, so I duno how you get two per squad.

:P

Marines live for hundreds of years, if memory serves.

emperors champion akeris - October 22, 2004 09:49 AM (GMT)
The eldar would be superior but are too cruel and wretched to seek aid from others. They once were superior but foiled themselves when they endeavoured into chaos. Now only a few craft worlds have survived and the rest are inside the eye of terror.

conman - October 22, 2004 10:01 AM (GMT)
Thee not cruel and wretched there proud and arrogant! :D

Erokose - October 22, 2004 10:47 AM (GMT)
I armed a couple with Power swords. And the striking scorpians chain swords....Umm they are power weapons arnt they?

The Confessor - October 22, 2004 07:47 PM (GMT)
No

Spartan-118 - October 23, 2004 12:51 AM (GMT)
Eldar are no where near as good as a space marine more like a guardsmen.

Erokose - October 23, 2004 05:08 AM (GMT)
Eldar may not be as strong but they are still cheap and 2 eldar can take out 1 Space marine.

dark angel 17 - October 23, 2004 05:42 AM (GMT)
Striking Scorpions, I believe, shoot out needles from their helmets. And fluff-wise, Marines are definetly superior to Eldar.

Erokose - October 23, 2004 06:07 AM (GMT)
Thats the one, a spray of needles!

war mammoth - October 23, 2004 06:31 PM (GMT)
Mandiblasters: Shoot tiny needles with toxins in them to subdue enemy.

Chainswords: Close combat weapons... not power weapons... count as a normal close combat weapon.

Guardians: 6pts... not as good a a marine

Marine: 15pts... better than a guardian but cant take on 2 if they have a starcannon... hehehe...

Eldar: A powerful race if you know how to use them, like an alaitoc army is naturally powerful but apart from their army of snipers, it would be a good idea to take some anti-tank. Bright lances are very VERY VERY cheesy against high points cost tanks with high armour... land raiders for instance... :D

Marines: Very good all around and a good army... if used wrong they can still stand a chance...

The Confessor - October 23, 2004 09:52 PM (GMT)
How is a bright lance cheesy, its the eldar's only anti-tank weapon. :o

emperors champion akeris - October 24, 2004 09:44 AM (GMT)
What about prism cannons, eldar missile launcher and shurikin catapults. They all have a chance and lets not forget the starcannon. Then theres all the magic crap

The Confessor - October 24, 2004 07:11 PM (GMT)
Lets not forget shuriken pistols either, they also have a chance.

war mammoth - October 24, 2004 07:34 PM (GMT)
Beep... beep..beep.BEEP! Wow, the sarcasm meter just blew up!
Come on guys, Wow the marines only real anti-tank weapon is the multi-melta but lascannons also stand a chance and so do missile launchers... all armies are balanced perfectly  ... they just have suttle differences  ...

The Confessor - October 24, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
Lascannons and multi-meltas like you said. Assault cannons got an increadible boost in AT ability, firing 4 shots and rending.

Also I think the new marine codex introduced veteran skills, so they can take Tank Hunter. Missile launchers and even autocannons could be used for AT with that.

:(

Erokose - October 25, 2004 05:59 AM (GMT)
NEWS FLASH
We arn't talking about marines we are talking about Eldar. And the eldar already get the tank hunter ability, its either the Fire dragon exarch or the Dire Avenger Exarch. They get a power called tank hunter.

The Confessor - October 25, 2004 06:21 AM (GMT)
...

When you do a comparison, you compare things.

Dumbass.

Erokose - October 25, 2004 06:46 AM (GMT)
Well if you go back and look you will see that At that time we WEREN'T talking about space marines....

Dumbass

QUOTE (conman @ Oct 22 2004, 06:30 AM)
Your views on whether or not Eldar are the supieor race

Superior (adj.) - Of a higher nature or kind.

That would imply comparison, which is relavent to the original post. Why wouldn't you compare eldar to another WH40k race?

Keep it coming, dumbass.

Erokose - October 25, 2004 07:14 AM (GMT)
Well, we were comparing but then we started talking about eldar wargear and then someone said something about space marines that had nothing to do with the eldar wargear.

Come on Dumbass, got any more?

The Confessor - October 25, 2004 07:28 AM (GMT)
Space marines were brought up before and after the 'wargear'.

The wargear discussion was educating people who don't know what eldar wargear even is (ie- you).

Keep up the mimicing, dumbass

Erokose - October 25, 2004 07:48 AM (GMT)
Well..........Ummm.............Ahhh

Um....Im out of ideas...........

war mammoth - October 25, 2004 06:47 PM (GMT)
I only made a comment on marines to be used as a general statement, i could say the same for IG, Tau or any other race. I just chose to use SMs as an example.
If I went off the subject a bit.
Soz...

Vampy - October 26, 2004 04:04 PM (GMT)
If you can't keep these things on topic guys then I will close them. Let this thread be an example. If you wish to discuss this topic again then I suggest you start a new thread but keep things on topic.

Thanks
