They were in short number with very little ammo or anti-tank support. Captain Lokaz lay in a shell crater along with private Fozworth and Sergeant Horvaz. To the left of them lay 2 airbourne infantry from the 173rd glider infantry named Dandelov and Zipher along with Ribin with his heavy bolter and minus his partner who was killed in the opening exchanged of the first battle.
In the building to the west way Kazmerov and Popovich. Kazmerov weilded his sniper rifle and Karmerov was set the task of manning the light machine gun. Scattered through the ruins of the general store was Melash and Karpozo both from 3rd company.
Their task was the repel the traiotr armoured assault. They knew it would happen as the only way to hit the attackers and push their advance back off the beach head.
They defended a bridge which lay directly behind Lokaz and his small array of troops who lined the main street. This was the only way to cross the bridge as rubble blocked off all other ways to flank the defeding forces and push across the bride.
The task at hand was blunt. Hold the bridge until reinforcements make their way to releive the position.

I like it. Its more of a report type of story then an actual in depth story, but i like these kind of stories as you know from mine. ;)

Part 2.

The enemy armour took the bait and headed straight down the main street. Enemy infantry surrounded the tanks. waiting for the machine gunners to open up Lokaz peered just over the top of the hole in which he and sergeant Horvaz lay in. Karmerov was anxious to kill heretics but was patient enough not to open fire at the risk of getting shelled by a passing leman russ. The half track entered the city last. Riben, the final member of 3rd company as well as 7 173rd airborne closed off the escape route. the tanks had now passed the front fox holes and were approaching lokaz and horvas's postition.
