ok. in the codex it says to be able to make a WBB role there has to be another unit of the same type within 6 inches. But it does not say they have to be standing up.

So when all my warrior squad falls do i get to role a WBB.

Well if the squad is wiped out (all fallen), if there is a unit of the same type [standing] then they get wbb if they too are all fallen than no.

The rules have changed considerably. Remeber what happened against beorn. Your whole squad was wiped and the only thing near by was wraiths and so the squad was removed.

The rules havnt been changed its just that maybe everyone is understanding it wrong lol.

I think that there has to be the same model standing within 6 inches. Next time we go to GW we will ask the guys to finalise it.

Ok if they are all down they are removed. If there are destroyers (full unit) nearby as well as another unit of equal strength than yes but only if within '6'. Also if they are within 6 of the monolith yes or within 6 of a tomb spider.

Yeah just to clarify this for everyone:

Imagine you have 2 units of warriors.

Unit 1 all get shot down. Unit 2 are all standing still and are within 6 inches. Unit 1 can make WBB rolls.

Unit 1 all get shot down. Unit 2 are 7 inches away. Unit 1 is removed.

Unit 1 all get shot down and are 6 inches away from unit 2 that have also all been shot down. All figures are removed.

Unit 1 and 2 are both shot down but are within 6 inches of a Tomb Spyder. There is still another unit of warriors ANYWHERE on the board then those 2 units can make a roll for WBB.

Unit 1 and 2 are both shot down but are within 6 inches of a Tomb Spyder and there is NOT another warrior squad on the board, the 2 units are removed.

A monolith enables WBB all the time if within range of it. No other squads are required.


Oh and to clariy with those people that think that Necron's don't need to be standing, I will prove you wrong with simple logic:

If you have a squad of 10 warriors that all get shot down, they can not roll a WBB roll unless they are near another Necron of the same type. So do they need to be standing? Yes, because a squad is always within 6 inches of itself and always the same unit type. If they needn't be standing, then you could WBB roll solely for being in a squad.

I wish we knew that earlier cause I shot down a Necron squad at least 6x before it was completely wiped out and nothing was standing and nothing was within 6inches, but since I didn't know that I lost the game.

Um Vapmy could ya tell me what page it sez that in the Necron codex? That they have to be standing up. :huh:

No. It may not say it but Logic merely dictates it. Trust me on this one

I think it does say it in the codex, just obscurely. A model or unit that is shot down count as being dead (as in not actually on the board) and therefore cannot be counted as being on the table for wbb rolls. Simple.

it does say it in the Necron Codex, either that or its in a Chapter Approved somewhere.
