Great army with very good shooting potential. However, if you will be mainly going against necrons i would take alot more assault troops (this is also a plus because Bts love assault troops anyway) and maybe a champion with... maybe... power weapon? And maybe a couple of lascannons? To neutralyse his tanks and take out straggling warriors that are out of range of a resurection orb?
Just my 2 cents.

first things first about the list

I am going to stay back and pound the Necrons to Scrap Metal!
second, I am not to fond of Lascannons in small number, i'd have to take off all three Heavy Bolters for 1 Las Cannon
3: my dad's only type of "tank" in a Monolith and he dosen't have 1
4: the army is build not only to pound Necrons, but Orks and Eldar aswell, it should work
5 The Terminator's, Assualt Marines and BT squad with flamer are all Close Combat nuts, aswell as the three HQ choices (the third is for Emperor's Champion who doesn't take up a slot for BTs)
6 12 Bolters, 3 Heavy Bolters and a Whirlwind is dangerous to anyarmy, especially Necrons with their Low Range weaponry

1. necrons will out shoot you they are designed for it

2. necrons and low range doesnt mean jack. Most likely i'd would say they will be rapid firing your marines at 95% strength because shooting doesnt do much against them unless you have weapons that blow chunks out.

3. Wouldn't you rather a chaplin that can jump around with a jump pack rather than slog it out in terminator armour? I just think youre wasting a lot of close combat potential with the way your one if configerated.

Emperor: I know you're trying to help, but, 9 shots a turn from heavy bolters, anoth 12-24 from bolter, and then the rokkit's from the whirlwind is just plain death-day-party, I used this list against Necrons once and did really well.
Let's say I get 22 shots, 12-9-1 from bolters, heavy bolters and whirlwind in respect, I frie the whirlwind on top of his Warriors, it doesn't scatter and I get 4 wounds, 4 3+ armour saves will knockout 1-3 on average of my dads shooting, then, my 3 Heavy Bolters blast the hell out of the same unit, knocking out another 2-4 on average, then the Bolters blow hell out the same unit, and on average i'll get 2-4 knocked out, so on hgih damage I could get 11 out of the squad from this shooting, then on an average, 5 should come back up, if they're in range of another Necron, as any survivers might flee.
the Chaplain has worked wonders in Terminator armour, once he bashed apart 3 Necron Immortal's on his own, and that was after he blew one away with Storm Bolter ;)

Ok sorry. I well didnt take into account how cc wise my army was. I seem to get bashed around before i get to combat. I would recomend at least 1 weapon like a lascannon that could really blast apart the necrons and take down things like the lord and wraiths who seem to survive everything.

Its up to you good luck :D

Im sorry about saying about the necrons in my last post, I had just had a very involving 5000pt game against necrons that took 5 hours with no break! So I guess I got caught up in the moment. Anyway, Heavy bolters are good but dont have the take-down potential, at the moment, hardly anyhthing in your army will not allow armour saves to any body with a good armour before you get into combat but not even termies can take down a tooled-up chaos daemon prince, tooled-up orc warboss etc...
