a month or two back my Marines had a go at my friends new Tyranid's, heres the battle, enjoy people.


MY ARMY (Black Templar Space Marines, although using Codex Marine Rules)
Marshall Ezequil (Squad Beta-29/B8)
1 Marshall Bolt Pistol, Power Weapon, Terminator Honours.
Black Templar Squad Alpha-29/A8
5 Marines, Bolters, 1 Lascannon, Sergeant with Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon.
Black Templar Squad Beta-29/B8
6 Marines, Bolters, 1 Flamer, Sergeant with Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon.
Black Templars Assualt Squad Omaga-29/O8
7 Marines, Bolt Pistols and Close Combat Weapons, 2 Plasma Pistols, Veteran Sergeant with Bolt Pistol and Power Weapon.
Whillwind, Black Death
Multi-Rocket-Luancher, Extra Armour.

AND HIS ARMY
Hive Tyrant "Beasty Unit 1" not sure what it had.
8 Hormaguants "Beasty Unit 2" Scything Talons.
8 Termagants "Beasty Unit 3" Flesh Borours, 1 Devourer.
12 GeneStealers "Beasty Unit 4", Claws.
Venathrope "Beasty Unit 5", Psychic Scream. (The One that it shoots like a missile Weapon)

THE SETUP AND TERRAIN

the terrain was three BIG rocks, one in my Deployment Zone, one in the middle, and one to my left and about 20 Inches to the middle rock.

My Whillwind was behind the rock in my zone, Squad Alpha-29/A8 was to the left, Beta-28/B8 was to the Right and Omaga-28/O8 was to the far right.
his were all behind the big rock, the Tyrant at the front and Guants around it, the Stealers and Vexanthrope to my left to go round the big rock.

THE GAME
My Turn First and Omaga-28/O8 jumped 12" forward and to my right, catching sight of the Hive Tyrant an odd 30" away.
Alpha-28/A8 stayed put and trained their weapons to the Hive Tyrant, Beta-28/B8 moved inbetween my zone rock and the middle rock.
then, my Lascannon fired up field, wounding the Hive Tyrant, it now on Three Wounds I dicided my Whillwind would fire at the Guants behind it, guessing 45" I over shot on their heads, and then Scattered 6" away from my Whillwind, the rockets didn't hit anything and it was his turn.
He moved the Tyrant and 16 Guants 6" round the right of the middle rock , and a Fleet of Claw roll of 4" for both units. the Stealers and "Giant Worm" moved to the left (mine, not his) round the left rock to flank me, the Stealers behind it and the Worm 3" out of cover of them. and the Venom Cannon on the Tyrannt spat one out of Alpha-28/A8.
My turn and Alpha stayed to fire, Beta moved fully out inbetween the Rocks in my Zone and the middle to shot the Worm down (vexanthrope BTW).
and Omaga moved 12 Inches towards the Guants and readyed for an assualt.
the Whillwind managed to blow one Hourmaguant from the game and the Lascannon missed the Tyrant, and Beta fired and wounded the Worm.
His turn and the Tyrant and Guants Moved to the cover of the Middle rocks away from the Lascannon, the Genestealers moved 6" behind the Left rocks and started to appear round them, the Worm moved towards Beta and Alpha, killing on it's mind, and Fleet of Claw got the Hormaguants close enough to assualt my Assual Marines, the Termigents moved their 2" Fleet of Claw back towards the Hive Tyrant, which fired at Omaga failing to even hit, and the Guants Charged, my friend had good hit rolls, but failed 12 hits wounding me on 5+ and got one, which I failed anyhow, My Marines then slew 5 of the Xenos back winning Combat, but the Guants Stayed (out of 12" of Tyrant or Synapse Creature).
My trun and Beta stayed, where as Alpha got the order to move to the Right in order to fire at the Tyrant, my Whillwind luanched another salvo of rockets at the Stealers killing 2, Beta fired upon the Worm failing to hit or wound it.
His Turn
The Tyrant and Termaguants moved towards Squad Omaga-28/O8, and the Stealers burst out the left rocks, with the Worm coming ever closer towards Beta-28/B8 and luanched a psychic blast at them, squashing two under the powerful attack.
My Turn
Alpha-28/A8 moved again to the right and took up possition to fire, just as Beta moved back to the cover of the middle rock to hide from the Worm, Black Death rained upon the Termaguants killing four and wounding the Hive Tyrant again, Beta fired upon the Stealers blowing three to death and then Omaga had shown the rest of the army true killing power, they slew all but one the Hormaguants and didn't lose one Marine, the xenos fled and Omaga chased and killed it down, but they were now in range of the Termaguants...
His Turn, Termaguants moved away from the Marines where as the Tyrant moved towards them, the Worm and Stealers came in for the kill. The Tyrant fired it's Venom Cannon but missed, and so did the Termaguants, then the Worm missed hiting the Black Death Whillwind that was blowing twice it's points back, if not trice.
My Turn. Omaga moved to kill the Tyrant, moving a careful 5" away from it, Alpha readyed weapons and made a beam mark on the Tyrant, the Black Death Whillwind prepared to fire and then, Beta fired all rounds into the Gene Stealers, killing 3 of them, Ezequil had left the unit to fight the Worm and shot it, it was hit, and perhaps wounded but stayed alive as the Whillwind blew all but three Genestealers out of life and two Plasma Pistol shots hitting but failing to wound the Hive Tyrant, with the Las Cannon blasting into it's flesh it roared in pain, with one wound left Omaga charged it, two of their number fell too the beast, but the rest slew it with the Veteran's Power Weapon and over-ran into the Termaguants, Ezequil rushed into the Worm and bashed it's bony skull to jelly with a swipe of his Power sword and knocked it's stomach with his Pistol, the beast fell to the ground with a thud and died.

OUTCOME: WIN TO SPACE MARINES!

END OF GAME CONCLUSSIONS
ME: I felt my friend was out numbered in tactics, as I use Marines quite a bit and that was the first battle with his Nids', falling to my Whillwind each and every single turn except the first, my Assualt Squad had performed WELL past the call of duty and killed the big thing I knew could make trouble more than any other unit in the game, the Tyrant, Alpha was good at taking out the Tyrant with Lascannon fire aswell, and Beta only managed to blast Genestealers from the board with fast determination, aswell as my Black Death Whillwind throwing pain all over the field.

MY FRIEND: Darmort cheated, his assualt Squad took out a HIVE TYRANT, with a 2+ AS and all, curse those Power Weapons, if only my Genestealers got into combat with their High Inititive and attack, three attacks each on charge, I am going to get a rematch, my Ultramarines Vs his Dark Eldar, although he'll still win, his Archaon bloke gets about 5-6 attacks on charge and has an Agoniser (wounds 4+ and no armour saves) he is just mean, and he means to try out the Webway portal just to get his Talos into play faster, his Incubi having those death-pokers cause truck loads of damage on my Marines, I need to use some more Heavy Weapon Squads and a Dreadnaught + Preditor, that'll get him, mwahahahaha.

Ohhh he felt cheated. I have a templar army and well lots of people acuse me of cheating because my assault squad churns out such a horrendous amount of attacks.
Just a question, do you use armageddon rules. If not i strongly suggest it. I've used both and well armageddon won major and Codex SM lost miserably.

Well it seemed like you both suffered a bit with dice rolling :rolleyes: but remember it happens to th best of us :D

wasn't using Armeggedon rules, I use normal Codex Marines in small battles, 1000+ points and then I start playing Black Templars, the battle was to small for 2 Characters anyway.

Just like to point out that the emperors champion (i take it thats what you mean) isn't a character. He's a HQ and doesn't take up a slot on the force organisation chart :D

Ben people acuse you of cheating because you lied about your emperors champion having strength 11 and when you say you get to roll an invunurable and a armour save, i no that we all make mistakes mostly me lol, but the emperors champion was a lie. also when i attack you and you go first then i attack , you dont get to attack back.

also you dont get a extra attack for a power weapon, all the attacks he gets counted as power weapon attacks......ask bion....

So what you are saying if the emperors champion has a bolt pistol and the black sword, the bolt pistol is either a power weapon in its own right, or just isnt a weapon????

Also the other rules were from daniel (idiott) or a friend a long time ago when i trusted him and didnt bother to actually read the rules for the emperors champion eg str 11.

Emperor's Champion does get the Extra Attack from Black Sword if he uses it 1 handed with Bolt Pistol which is Master-Crafted, he can't get S11, only S8 an that's a 2 handed Black Sword attack.
