inquisitor ghost - June 9, 2004 02:23 PM (GMT)
this is the opening inquisitor topic so i would like to know if anyone wants/needs help with =][= and how many people here play it.
Assassin Wolf - June 9, 2004 06:46 PM (GMT)
Hi Ghost,
I also play Inquisitor, all be it a new thing for me,I currently have an Assassin warband of four members.
The close combat rules are somewhat confusing dont you think?,and require several reads before they make any sense.
What does your warband consist of?? :ph43r:
inquisitor ghost - June 9, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
Hi :D ,
Good to see another player already.
The CC rules are tricky at first but when you play more games they become second nature.
My warband is rogue element. I have a slightly demonic chaos worshipping warband with devastating psychic powers but little in the way of much else!

Yeah thats true, but I dont have many people to play against here....so its just me a friend of mine.
Great game though,I like the more realistic/involved feel of the game play.
CHAOS GOD666! - June 9, 2004 10:54 PM (GMT)
I have played a few games games at my local GW, but i have never really grasped the feel of it. I would consider starting my own army though. B)
inquisitor ghost - June 10, 2004 07:53 AM (GMT)
Once you get into it, it becomes much more interesting and it is much more realistic. I find that it is usually much more fun as well :D

Do it, its well worht it, much better than other GW games since the rules arent so strict, you can really go beserk. Its nice to be able to go all heroic.
But assassin, its not realistic, nor is it supposed to be.

-Chiz65. He's new here but wont be for very long. Kudos to the guy who made this place.

It is realistic enough to be playable but i wouldnt go as far as saying that it's exactly perfect...otherwise where would the fun be??? :D

The whole point is not that it is realistic, but that you can do all kinds of heroic stuff. Just look at the damage tables, guys can take LOADS befoe finally biting the bullet.

It is realistic in what the characters can do in the way of awareness and movement(this keeps it from getting out of hand), However the rest of it is designed to be fun which they have done very well. I do agree with the heroics side of it as the turn sequence allows you to come up with some really interesting idea's.

Awareness id good, granted, but things like movement are not. A guy can run 60 yards in one turn (if he gets the actions) when a turn represents a few seconds. How good is the guy? Risky actions are a touch too risky, a force staff weighs less than a laspistol etc ect but i digress. =][= is a great game but not the best for realism.

-Chiz65, whose biggest problem with =][= is making balanced characters.

At least the game has been based around some form of realism.....it evolves and adapts as you would in life.
All the best games will depend on a good GM!!
chiz65 - June 10, 2004 11:04 AM (GMT)
Yeah you say that but the guy who GM's for me is awful. Really. You'd know if you knew him. There is certainly more realism than 40k for example.
--------------------
-Chiz65. Haha.
inquisitor ghost - June 10, 2004 11:06 AM (GMT)
When i play i usually have a very fair and reaonable GM...who likes inventing whats in the barrel next to me(explosives or sugar???) :D
chiz65 - June 10, 2004 11:28 AM (GMT)
Did the sugar heal characters, or explode when burnt?
--------------------
-Chiz65, whose inquisitor would just thieve the stuff and sell it at a profit.

Nasty syrupy mess to be honest...sticky so it slowed the characters down a yard moving through it.
chiz65 - June 10, 2004 11:34 AM (GMT)
And that, friends, is why =][= is better than other games. It is narrative and you feel like part of the story.
--------------------
-Chiz65. The people's panda.
inquisitor ghost - June 10, 2004 11:35 AM (GMT)
I agree,
It is much more involving and the campaignes have purpose.

and its not over at the end of the game.......you get to come back for another go,lol
inquisitor ghost - June 10, 2004 11:41 AM (GMT)
Yeah...there is no winning or losing as theres no end.
chiz65 - June 10, 2004 11:43 AM (GMT)
There is just about no end to what can happen. Like the battle reports in WD a while back, with Kessel, Lichtenstein and co. At the end of their final battle report they were in a position to do rescue scenarios, and the chaos guy fighting his way out, an unbound deamonhost, all go.

-Chiz65. Oh, yeah.

After all resurection is a bit much for any GM,lol
Guest - June 10, 2004 12:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah but it lets you introduce more characters and on it goes. :)
Assassin Wolf - June 10, 2004 12:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah.....a self evolving game,I hope my characters last a while though.

But you can recreate them as a cyborg if you so wish, and from then they will last until the oil crisis.

Post your guy on the character listing thread. Always nice to have a new member, spread the word!
5 characters- are they less powerful or is that just what your group plays?

Being that they are assasins i imagin they would take alot of poisons so needle pistols/rifles and CC weapons coated in it are good choices.
chiz65 - June 14, 2004 07:50 AM (GMT)
Either like the main assassin with a 'delicate' style of fighting, or as beefcakes.

-Chiz65, who doesnt like beefcakes.
