Its pretty cool. The only thing out of the ordinary is the sentinels which wont make much of a difference really to be honest. I like it a lot competively but its very similiar to almost every IG army i have seen on the forum critical hit (www.criticalhit.co.uk/forums/)

Im not to sure but i dont fancy the mortars. I would prefer missiles or autocannons for light tanks and superinfantry.

Na keep the Mortars, they provide good cover and can thin out opponents armies as you foot slog the rest of your army across the table. ;)

I like mortars...

The lascannon armed Sentinals are first turn tank hunters. They work rather well as well, as long as you know they will die pretty quick. They have one goal, after that surviving is a bonus. At 70pts, killing one vehicle more then makes up the points spent...

And I'd say it is pretty different to many guard players armies. Most have more tanks, doctrines and specialised stuff...

Yeh when i think about it yes. I like tanks although there a lot of infantry nazis around who would rip this army apart (serious) because it has a tank worth more than 125pts.

I think sentinels only work in squads of 3+. Any less and they are an annoyance that your opponent will use little force to remove.

Thats kinda the point. You obviously havent played a decent sentinal player if you think they need 3 or more sentinals. Hell, i know some players who can create so much havock with just one...
My sentinals tend to be around long enough to get a shot off. That usually means destroying or damaging significantly a transport/dreadnought/other tank (i pick targets in that order) for them to have been worthwile.

A basic Russ is more then 125pts so that (in your opinion) screws it up for guard.

I have a tendancy to play Space Marines, Chaos Marines or Necrons. This army tends to do really well against those armies, mostly because those sort of armies are too small to withstain the casualties that i can cause everyturn.
