Title: Beastmen having a huge advantage over other armies

After thinking about the comments in my other thread i wondered is it fair that beastmen are allowed to ambush from the rear literaly catching their opponents defenceless.
I am farily new to the concept of fantasy but does this special rule really make beastmen a force to be reckoned with.

I have a 1000pt Beastmen army, but that isnt a HUGE advantage.. WHY? because Skirmishers and Fast Cavalry can charge them easy, so it's annoying.
Anyway, The beastlord is too strong, but i think the Ungors can be fixed up a bit.

I just thought that well they take away all the rank bonuses by charging the rear. Are they really a good unit beastmen core or is the ambush rule all they have going for them.
Oh and beastlord being too strong? How is that a bad thing. Its an added challenge for your opponents trying to avoid him:unsure:
Why are ungors not what they should be. I think they would have to have playtested them for months to get the right and most of all fair stats for him

What i mean as TOO STRONG is that the equipment available to him and his points cost.
Anyway, Beastmen Core Units mostly only use the Ambush rule because they are very Fragile ( in armour ways ) so they can drop like flies against Dwarves or Elves if they arent in combat.

Oh ok i thought that because they look so tough they would have a decent save. Anyway the only core unit from memory that has a save without upgrades is chaos warriors which is just because they appear to have heavy armour and they are disadvantaged by being slow on the march.
