The new age of nu metal is upon us. bands like slipknot, korn, system of a down and mushroom heads are here. Why is so little of this put to radio instead we get **** like hiphop, R&B and rap.

Nu metal isnt all swearing (slipknot and korn major exceptions) but even non-swearing songs are frowned upon by those pansies who hate anything that isnt pansy s*** eg, usher, black eyed peas and pop music.

Where has decent music gone. I like anything from light rock to nu metal but i hear 1 in 3 songs at best in the top 40 that would actually resemble rock.

Why has such pathetic stuff (not worthy of the title music) been allowed to take over?

There actually is metal stations on the radio but only play at night. They have been shuned from society as they are supposed to resemble madness.
People who appreciate metal have got themselves access to it, and dont care what others think. B)

Might I be so bold to point out that Korn, Slipknot and System of A Down all get on the radio all of the time when they have a single due release.

Secondly, I would also like to point out that 99% of Nu Metal is not very good at all. Metal is the real stuff. From Classic Metal like AC/DC to modern Metal Like Ackercocke it is all great. Korn rehash their own tunes and remarket them under a different name. Slipknot are officially the worst band I have seen live. If you want some good nu metal listen to Chevelle and maybe Crossfade

Thirdly, hip hop and the likes aren't bad if you know the right artists. However, you only get the mainstream stuff on the radio. But if it was rock all of the time you would also only get the mainstream bands on the radio like Linkin Park and that would be equally as bad.

really thats illegal. Nu-metal is the best. Metal has been stretched too far. Hip hop is officially pansy and nu-metal and anything that isnt hiphop rap or r&b or pop is good.

What? Brit Rock has been around ages since Nu Metal has! Check out the boom in the early 90's when there was a massive flow of Brit Rock/Pop! Hence, the Brit awards.

But every genre is sub categorised. Nu Metal is in itself a sub category of Metal so if you think about it, Nu Metal is a stupid little category aswell :)

My favourite band is officially Nirvana. They go pretty far back and platy some really good songs!
AC/DC is a good band, but sadly is dieing, well is dead to most. :lol:
I dont like rap because all they sing about is how good they are and how much money and "bitches" :( they have. :angry:

Nirvana were good but I must point out that I feel Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains are the best Grunge bands of all time :) AIC are the best and PJ second best :D Oh and if you like Grunge check out the Pixies. They were Kurt Cobain's inspiration as he famously once said "All I was basically doing was ripping off the Pixies". I am going to see the reforming of the Pixies next week. Much weed and beer shall ensue :)

As for Rap? It's great if you pick the right artists. Too many mainstream crap artists about these days. It is the same thing that happened in the 80's with trash like Whitesnake and Poison ruining the rock world by making the music so cheesy and mainstream they killed people's love for actual decent bands. This is no different with rap. There are some amazing artists out there. Do not let the mainstream cash in twats ruin it for you.

And AC/Dc are not dying. They still tour and that is not bad for a band that date as far back as the early 70's, have had their original lead singer die, and then went on to get a second lead singer to bounce back with Back In Black in 1980 and set the world alight once again with the finest metal album ever produced. Remember, just because a band is not as marketable these days, does not mean that the band is any less amazing. They are still the greatest metal band of all time

Im into all music. I even like old shit from like 20yrs ago. ACDC, Led Zepplin and others. Im also into Cradle of filth, slipknot, korn and a lot of others

I use to be in a jazz band, now im in wind assemble, (I play drum kit) This is for school btw.

Drums also. Great instrument. I prefer the term percussionist as I play a variety of percussion instruments :)

There are plenty of radio stations that play Khorne, slipnot, Rammstein, Evenescence, Nightwish etc

I love Nu metal, especially slipknot and korn. I like the old school rock like metallica and AC/DC. I pretty much like most forms of music except opera! I have recently just gotten a new found friend in the rasmus, if you listen to the words they sing it makes a lot of sense. it is kind of rock but then goes to a quiet music and then back to rock!

I think that its F****D in the head how you hardly ever hear bands like slipknot on the radio, but i suspose its because they think that is not wrth playin(I reccomend they be shot for not playin nu metal alot <_< )

But they are on the radio alot! Here in Briton and over in America there are tons of radio stations that play nu metal. You can probably listen to those stations over the net for free as well.
France, Germany and Russia seem to have a fair few as well.

Ya all got Windows Media Player? Use the Radio feature on that to find these stations!

yeh but wot happens if we are goin on a road trip and want to hear nu metal on the radio and we dont have the cd's. we cant bring our whole comp with us then. ;)

Nu Metal is rubbish conpared to Punk Rock
and Nu Metal is all just bash and crash stuff, the old Punk Rock stuff is execellent, and a few more bands that you may like
Pulp, Prodigy, Spin in Motion, R.E.M., Cornershop, Blur, all of which play good music, so there :P
and if you hate Radio so much, buy the CDs and stuff! don't listen to the Radio!

Hip hop is all that pansy stuff like usher and anything that is in between pop and rap. R&B stands for rhythm and blues and thats alicia keys and so forth. Im over punk. Its all the same to me. Its been stretched too far. Most of it isnt really punk like NOFX and MXPX good bands. I dont like punk much anymore im more into heavy metal.
BTW i thought prodigy was techno.

I don't know much about music, I like some of it and I hate loads of it, Punk Rock was good, or is good, or at least the old stuff is, try that.

Its got heaps of filmclips and has a lot of slipknot for those who like it. Also you don't have to download anything! To find what your after go to the top right hand corner and change the word all to artist then type in the band your looking for. Then a new page will come up and you click on videos.
