I woul want to be a steel legion imperial guardsman because of how cool they look. Driving round running over orks in chimeras (sorry i know you collect orks but only orks have a major presence on armageddon.

I also wouldnt mind being a tanith sniper. They are pretty dam good at what they do and i could imagine myself lining up abaddon and blowing his head clean off his shoulders.
Also it wouldnt be so bad being one of gaunts ghosts or cournel schaffers last chancers. They do some mean suicide missons. Oh and for the record captain guant is actually dead accoring to the background stories.

May i ask where it says that Gaunt is dead? I have all the books, comics and other references to him. None say he is dead...

In one of the background stories in the nearest GW to me there was a book where gaunt and his men are making a last effort to take down chaos (nothing out of the ordinary) where he is fighting a whole horde and is cut down by the stupidest of enemies. Also captain tyco of the blood angels is also dead. He was killed by ghazgull (excuse the spelling but you get the idea) when the blood angels dropped into the horde of orks assaulting hades hive.

Captain Tyco being dead is old old old news. Almost 4 years ago that happened...

As for the Gaunt thing...well...i've never seen no fluff of his about that. The closest i know of that nearly killed him was when he was shot in the heart by Asphodel

Well i blame authors not really having any connections with other authors writing on the same topic. The source i got it from was an older book that a staff member showed me when my mate was buying a captain guant model. I think theres just more than 1 account of his life.

Well only Dan Abnett has the copyright to write the Gaunts Ghosts fluff, so it couldnt be a problem with Authors miscomunication. If the fluff was not written by Abnett then its not official and therefore not true.

Its possible that it is part of his future...

OK. Im not lieing i distinctly remember a GW staff member telling and then showing me in a book (not sure of the author) where it recalls gaunt getting likked by a traitor guardsman or something pathetic.

Yeh well to be honest its all rubbish. Everyone has their own perspective and whos to say Dan Abnetts perception is correct. GW probably has a timeline of his artime career somewhere which outlines a completely different perspective.

lol, when My dad was younger he collected lots of fantasy, I have atleast 3 shelves of them, packed on the shelf, he didn't collect much 40k tho, but anyway yeh im starting to get my dad to have games with me :D

But the only thing i find unbelivable is how the hell did he get enough time to paint them all! you got hundreds of them

Well he painted like everyday and each figure took him about an hour, he has done every last detail :D

The models i have seen are squats. Theyre well painted and coated with varnish( an old tradition).
Theyre mostly rogue trader model squats i cant fnd any pictures on google of what these look like. Maybe erokose will take some.

do you actually own the squats or do you just want to get them

Pity that saying isnt true. Many things can survive being shot by a whirlwind. Terminators, Chaos Terminators, Necrons, Wraithlords, Big Nid Stuff, Several Imperial Tanks, Titans, Chaos Deamon Princes...

the power of the whirlwind isnt exactly portrayed in the game of 40k. In many stories hundreds of enemies have been crushed by whrilwind missiles and thats where i got the quote.

None of the stuff in 40k is portrayed correctly. For instance a C'tan, in the fluff, is one of the hardest creatures in the universe, easily capable of destroying whole chapters of marines. 40k rules wise? could probably kick around tacticles for a long time...terminators or devastaters would cause it some damn problems...

Same with the Greater Deamons of Chaos. They are supposed to be really hard buggers, but i find them to be relatively easy to kill.

Very true. If portrayed correctly it would be 1500pts worth of cadians VS. 1 or 2 chaos space marines. Also i think that the nighbriner isnt strong enough as he is easily brought down by tanks who dont have to take a LD test to shoot at him.
