Title: Fantasia Awards

Paul Kazee - July 22, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
I was at the award ceremony, but most of them were announced in French. Anybody have a list of what won what in all of the various catagories?

As far as Asian film goes, I believe the following is accurate, though perhaps not complete:

Audience Awards
1. Tokyo Gore Police
2. Sukiyaki Western Django
3. 4bia

I believe Shadows in the Palace, Sparrow, and Adrift in Tokyo also won some critical awards (at least 2 for Adrift).

Other films that won something or other include:
REC (incredibly effective Spanish zombie film... one of my 2-3 fest faves)
La Antena (wasn't playing while I was there)
Let The Right One In (won LOTS of awards, including best Euro/North American film, I believe. Sadly, it too was not playing while I was there)
Midnight Meat Train (see below)
Pig Hunt (tied for 3rd with Midnight Meat Train for Best Euro/NA film, I think)
Rule of Three (another one that did not play while I was there)

Thanks!
