Title: VOICE (2005)

Looks like VOICE, part four of the Korean schoolgirls series that included the excellent and moving MEMENTO MORI has finally slipped onto US DVD under the radar courtesy of Weinstein/Genius productions. Its in my Netflix queue and I can't wait to see it. The disc has Korean 5.1 audio and a behind the scenes featurette (the Korean disc had 5.1 and half-bitrate DTS and several featurettes on a second disc). Look forward to seeing it but its too bad Tartan didn't release it before they went out of business.

I've seen it, and enjoyed it for what it was, which is more than I can say for a lot that passes for entertainment these days. The only one in the series I've yet to see is the first one, WHISPERING CORRIDORS; I planned to get it from amazon but the price of it and a couple other DVD's I wanted - the Film Noir Classic Collections - jumped up in price from late June (when they were cheaper than Deep Discount's sale price) to early July...I won't be ordering until they go back down again.

I liked it as well but don't be expecting a lot of scares - this isn't really a horror film in that sense - more a drama and a sad one at that in which there are supernatural elements.

Just got the disc. Looks like the specs are wrong. This is a skimpy disc. 2.0 audio only (I'm pretty sure 5.1 is the original mix), behind the scenes, and trailer. No 15 minutes of unskippable trailers.

The big unrated stamp on the cover and disc face seems to be the result of not bothering to submit it to the MPAA. The film deserves better though MEMENTO MORI is the better one (I still haven't seen the other two).

Of course, every release of any of the films in the series seems to pale next to what I've read about the 6 disc edition of MEMENTO MORI.

Here's my DVDBeaver review of the Weinstein disc: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews39/voice.htm

How does this disc compare image-wise to the imports? I think it at least looks good but I have nothing to compare it too (unlike MEMENTO MORI where I saw the awful looking HK disc before the Tartan release).
